Mu Bingmei

Mu Bingmei is the seventh-generation Brilliant Void Saintess and the original body whose ninth Heavenly Soul Dao avatar became Liu Mei. That failed attempt to cultivate ruthlessness gives Mu Bingmei Liu Mei's memories, her history with Wang Lin, and the inescapable fact that she is Wang Ping's mother. Her biography is consequently less a romance than a prolonged effort to reconcile duty, remorse, affection, and a self that her own cultivation method tried to divide. Biography

The Saintess and her ninth avatar

The Heavenly Soul Dao is the Brilliant Void Realm's supreme cultivation method. Mu Bingmei takes a shortcut that earlier Saintesses had failed to complete: she forms avatars without her memories, lets each develop an independent consciousness, and plans to recover them after they mature. The ninth avatar becomes Liu Mei on planet Suzaku. That identity lives independently, encounters Wang Lin, and gives birth to Wang Ping before the avatar's path fails. When its memories return to Mu Bingmei, they do not remain an irrelevant record. They become the fracture in her supposedly ruthless dao heart. (Chapters 1058–1059 and 1066)

Her Brilliant Void elders insist that she is Mu Bingmei rather than Liu Mei and that the defense of the sealed realm must outweigh one avatar's mortal attachments. Mu Bingmei's quiet answer—that Wang Lin is not an ordinary cultivator—already shows that the integration is incomplete in the opposite sense: Liu Mei has not simply vanished into the original body. Mu Bingmei carries her feelings and responsibility even while presenting the cold bearing expected of a Saintess. (Chapter 1066)

Confronting Wang Lin

Mu Bingmei enters the Celestial Emperor's cave amid the Alliance's campaign against the All-Seer. Her eight avatars lock the soul and gather origin energy, and she attempts to intervene when Wang Lin faces mortal danger. Wang Lin rejects her aid and treats the life-saving pill and protection as debts he will repay, making clear that Liu Mei's actions and Wang Ping's suffering still stand between them. Mu Bingmei's composure breaks when she sees him fall, but her concern cannot by itself undo the past. (Chapters 1079–1084)

Their later meeting in the Brilliant Void Realm is even more personal. Mu Bingmei has raised Zhou Ru as her only disciple, showing the maternal tenderness she suppresses elsewhere. She combs Zhou Ru's hair, gives her a hairpin, and allows her to leave with Wang Lin. Mu Bingmei wants to see Wang Ping but cannot bring herself to cross the final distance, fearing both what the meeting might do to her dao heart and what right she has to approach him. Wang Lin leaves without arranging it. Her tears after the transfer formation closes mark the cost of letting duty decide for her. (Chapters 1121–1124)

Loss of the Brilliant Void Realm

Tuo Sen's rampage destroys the Brilliant Void Realm, kills its guardian, and collapses Mu Bingmei's body. Her injured origin soul escapes only because Tuo Sen deliberately leaves an ancient-god imprint on her. She reaches the Cloud Sea, reforms a body, and invokes an old debt owed to the Brilliant Void inheritance so the God Sect will help her recover. When she later warns Wang Lin about Tuo Sen, he discovers and absorbs the hidden imprint rather than blaming her for carrying it. (Chapters 1217, 1233, and 1262–1264)

That reunion changes the direction of her dao. Mu Bingmei stops hiding behind the distinction between original body and avatar and states plainly that she is Liu Mei and Wang Ping's mother. She promises that, once free of the Brilliant Void Realm's shackles, she will accompany her son through his reincarnations and act as a real mother. By accepting the affection she had treated as a flaw, her Thousand Illusion Ruthless Domain begins moving toward completion: ruthlessness and attachment become two sides of one dao rather than mutually exclusive identities. God Sect master

Mu Bingmei recovers within the God Sect while the sealed realm approaches war. When Daoist Water calls in a debt and orders her to swallow a pill that links their lives, she keeps her promise despite understanding the danger. Wang Lin defeats Daoist Water but preserves his vitality essence, then uses an Ancient Order life-transformation spell to transfer that vitality through the link and save Mu Bingmei. Before departing, he invokes his authority as Lord of the Sealed Realm and names her master of the God Sect, placing the Origin Sect's people under the same command. (Chapters 1508–1516)

She treats the appointment as a responsibility rather than a title. During Wang Lin's disappearance, she continues to believe he is alive and holds the God Sect together. In the Outer Realm invasion, she refuses to hide in the core altar even after surviving repeated attempts by Dao Feishan to capture her. She and the remaining disciples prepare to die rather than submit. Wang Lin's return saves her, but his public description is carefully bounded: she is not his lover, yet she is the mother of his son. Mu Bingmei then joins the Inner Realm's counterattack and sends her own origin soul to help turn the vast wheel formation against the invaders. (Chapters 1534 and 1654–1661)

Eleven months and a choice to remain

After the Realm Sealing Formation falls, Mu Bingmei, Li Qianmei, and Xi Zifeng each spend time near the recovering Wang Lin. Mu Bingmei waits until the final year and sits beside him in silence. She leaves after eleven months, deliberately stopping one month short. The departure reflects both restraint and desolation: the Brilliant Void Realm and everyone who raised her are gone, Wang Ping has already passed through his mortal life, and she believes the only person left to her is a man who has never called her his partner. (Chapters 1664–1679)

When the cave-world inhabitants choose whether to depart, Mu Bingmei remains in the New Celestial Realm. In the rain she watches Wang Lin leave for the Immortal Astral Continent, accepts the essence sword he leaves for protection, and continues waiting after his name fades into legend. Her decision separates her from those who reincarnate outside: she does not begin a new identity but guards the world in which her unresolved life took place. (Chapters 1789–1797)

Wang Lin's return

Centuries later, Master Scarlet Soul attacks the New Celestial Realm and tries to force Mu Bingmei into becoming his disciple's dao partner. She refuses while the realm's defenders endure a collapsing formation. Wang Lin returns through the cave gate, restores the defenses after defeating the attackers, and finally faces the long history between them without hostility. (Chapters 2073–2078)

He uses a dream to let Mu Bingmei confront what she cannot release. When she wakes in tears and asks whether the person beside her is an avatar or the original, Wang Lin answers with his own identity rather than reviving the old distinction between Liu Mei and Mu Bingmei. Her final smile is one of relief: the story does not erase their past or redefine her as his wife, but it ends the division through which she had tried to deny it. (Chapters 2079–2080)

Appearance and personality

Mu Bingmei is repeatedly described as an extraordinary beauty whose long black hair, white clothing, and naturally noble bearing reflect years as the Brilliant Void Saintess. Snowflakes surround her in the Celestial Emperor's cave; later, moonlight and rain emphasize her solitary presence. Her beauty is less important than its emotional contrast: a woman who appears remote and otherworldly is often shown biting her lip, crying after partings, or waiting with words she cannot say. (Chapters 1053, 1124, 1264, and 1789–1790)

Her defining conflict is between restraint and attachment. She keeps promises even when they expose her to Daoist Water's control, accepts institutional duties that leave little room for a personal life, and refuses to abandon the God Sect under attack. At the same time, her tenderness toward Zhou Ru, remorse over Wang Ping, and concern for Wang Lin repeatedly break through the ruthless persona. Her later strength comes not from restoring that persona but from accepting affection as part of her dao. (Chapters 1123, 1265, 1509, and 1654–1661)

Abilities and cultivation

Mu Bingmei's cultivation is built around dividing and reintegrating the self. The Heavenly Soul Dao creates avatars whose experiences are meant to complete a ruthless original, but Liu Mei's independent life proves that recovered power and recovered memory do not produce simple emotional control.

Heavenly Soul Dao and independent avatars

The Brilliant Void Realm's supreme method lets Mu Bingmei create avatars and later recover their cultivation and experience. She takes the dangerous shortcut of sending avatars out without her memories, allowing each to form an independent consciousness before return. Liu Mei is the ninth such avatar. When that avatar's path fails, her memories enter Mu Bingmei, but Liu Mei's attachments, motherhood, and history with Wang Lin remain a fracture in the original dao heart. Liu Mei is therefore an identity-continuous avatar whose experience is integrated, not merely a disguise Mu Bingmei wore at the time. (Chapters 1058–1059 and 1066)

Illusion domains and the emotional crack

Mu Bingmei's path advances through the Thousand Illusion Ruthless Domain and the Ten Thousand Illusion Demon Domain. These stages use layered illusion and cultivated ruthlessness to detach the practitioner from ordinary emotional claims. Her inability to erase Liu Mei's feelings appears at first to be a flaw. By accepting rather than denying that “crack,” Mu Bingmei brings ruthlessness and affection toward a more stable balance. The development changes her dao comprehension; it does not retroactively erase the harm committed by Liu Mei or make the two biographies interchangeable. (Chapters 1058–1059 and 1264–1265)

Eight-avatar Spirit Lock the Soul formation

Eight avatars can take coordinated positions, lock a target's soul, and channel gathered origin energy into a pillar. The formation lets Mu Bingmei intervene in the high-level conflict around the All-Seer and multiply the reach of one body through synchronized manifestations. It remains vulnerable to stronger opponents and battlefield disruption, and it cannot decide that confrontation alone. The avatars are products of her cultivation, but their coordination should not be counted as eight unrelated cultivators. (Chapters 1079–1081)

Leadership and large formations

As God Sect master, Mu Bingmei commands cultivators, organizes defensive arrays, and takes a working position in the wheel formation during the realm war. This is practical mastery of formation warfare and institutional coordination rather than a newly named personal domain. Her effectiveness comes from assigning power across a group and holding a sector of a larger defense. (Chapters 1516, 1534, and 1658–1660)

Bodily destruction and recovery

Tuo Sen destroys Mu Bingmei's body and leaves her origin soul gravely injured. Survival requires shelter, re-formation of flesh, and prolonged recovery before she can approach her former cultivation. The Heavenly Soul Dao preserves more continuity than an ordinary bodily death might allow, but it supplies no instant restoration and does not make avatars inexhaustible. Her later condition is the recovered Mu Bingmei carrying integrated memories, not Liu Mei physically resurrected as a separate body. (Chapters 1217 and 1264–1265)

• Wang Lin: Their bond is built from Liu Mei's life, shared parenthood, injury, and obligations neither can reduce to a conventional partnership. Wang Lin ends their feud, protects her without claiming her as his lover, and ultimately offers companionship without asking which of her identities is “real.” (Chapters 1081–1124, 1264–1265, 1656, and 2079–2080)
• Wang Ping: He is her son through Liu Mei and the deepest fracture in her ruthless dao. She is too afraid to meet him during his life, then accepts the need to act as his mother through future reincarnations. (Chapters 1123–1124 and 1265)
• Zhou Ru: Mu Bingmei raises Zhou Ru as her only disciple and shows her open maternal affection. Letting Zhou Ru return to Wang Lin is one of her clearest acts of love without possession. (Chapter 1123)
• Li Qianmei: The two know one another from the Cloud Sea and later share the vigil near Wang Lin. Mu Bingmei recognizes Li Qianmei's sacrifices and leaves rather than compete for a promise Wang Lin has not offered. (Chapters 1262–1265 and 1676–1679)
