Miao Yin

Miao Yin is one of the Ancient Star System's five masters, operating through multiple powerful avatars until Wang Lin's enemies destroy them. (Chapters 1262 and 1793)

Biography

One of the Five Masters

Miao Yin is an ancient third-step expert of the Sound Sea and one of the Ancient Star System's Five Masters. He previously joins the Sovereign and Daoist Water in an assault on the Lord of the Sealed Realm, but he views such cooperation as paid work rather than devotion. At Wang Lin's Fallen Land trial, Miao Yin recognizes him from Daoist Water's intelligence and decides that any further intervention requires adequate compensation. His pleasant greeting and youthful appearance conceal the calculation of someone who has survived tens of thousands of years by pricing risks carefully. (Chapters 1262, 1404, and 1405)

Gambling an avatar in the Ancient Order Tomb

When the Ancient Order Tomb opens, Miao Yin risks a mid-stage Spirit Void avatar to enter. The fog destroys more than ten billion Joss Flame souls and strips the avatar's cultivation as he forces forward, but the possibility of treasures and a route to Void Tribulant makes the sacrifice acceptable. Inside, he uses a maid and allies to hunt Wang Lin, then bargains a stolen dao spirit to separate Wang Lin from Great Desolation. The ploy fails. Great Desolation attacks, Wang Lin's blood sword pierces Miao Yin, and the avatar releases sound and water essence in desperation. Great Desolation ultimately possesses the damaged body while Wang Lin takes its platform and a portion of its Joss Flames. (Chapters 1434–1460)

Original body, injury, and revenge

Miao Yin's original body later enters the tomb with Devil Master Nine Heavens. A roar destroys their bodies and forces them into prepared replacements, and the Sovereign eventually rescues them. He joins Nine Heavens and Great Desolation in seeking revenge, but Dao Master Blue Dream defeats all three. Miao Yin is injured most severely: his cultivation falls to Spirit Void and cannot recover for at least a century. Even in that state he joins the Sovereign's final encirclement of Wang Lin, only for the ancient bow's arrow to shatter his body. Wang Lin captures the escaping origin soul rather than letting him flee. (Chapters 1466–1478 and 1677–1691)

Sealed for reincarnation

After the cave world's crisis, Miao Yin hides at the bottom of a golden sea, draining essence from sea beasts to accelerate recovery. Wang Lin, now strong enough to fight late Arcane Void cultivators, comes specifically to remove the surviving Five Masters. Miao Yin knows he cannot escape and protests that the death of his avatar should have settled their grievance. Wang Lin instead says he will send him to the Immortal Astral Continent. Understanding that “reincarnation” is not simple execution, Miao Yin stops resisting, is sealed, and is stored to fuse with an avatar for the passage beyond the cave world. (Chapters 1792 and 1793)

Appearance and personality

Miao Yin's principal avatar appears as a handsome young man who lounges on a cloud, eats peaches, and carries a fan. His relaxed smile can become cold or distorted when threatened. He is calculating, transactional, and opportunistic: he yields a treasure to break a potential alliance, spends billions of worship souls for access to a tomb, and initially dismisses Wang Lin as a junior. Repeated defeat turns that superiority into intense hatred and, finally, pragmatic surrender when no escape remains. (Chapters 1404–1405, 1436, 1454–1456, 1689, and 1793)

Abilities and cultivation

Third-step avatars and Joss Flames

Miao Yin operates through avatars so that dangerous expeditions need not expose his original body. The Ancient Order Tomb avatar begins at mid-stage Spirit Void and commands a Joss Flame realm containing more than ten billion beautiful male and female souls. These souls can surround him as a sacrificial barrier, but the tomb's entry fog destroys them by the billions and rapidly lowers the avatar's cultivation. Unlike ordinary Spirit Void cultivators, Miao Yin has not fully fused his Joss Flame realm with his spirit soul, allowing Wang Lin and Great Desolation to steal portions after the avatar falls. Separation preserves flexibility, yet makes his accumulated worship power transferable. (Chapters 1436, 1456, and 1520)

Sound and water essence

Miao Yin's named offensive path combines sound essence with water essence in Sound Wave Destruction Dao. Its activation follows severe injury from Wang Lin's blood sword and Great Desolation's poison, implying a high-level retaliatory art rather than routine attack. Sound also carries his voice through an entire golden ocean, while water provides the environment in which his original body heals. The corpus establishes the pairing and destructive intent but does not show a clean, uninterrupted resolution of the technique; the tomb battle's overlapping attacks and later possession prevent a reliable maximum from being inferred. Defensive manifestations and essence draining

Miao Yin can manifest an ancient shield from purple mist, create a thousand-foot armored trident bearer, cover his own body in purple scales, and summon a Joss Flame woman wielding a jade sword. These layered defenses delay Great Desolation and Wang Lin but fail when he divides attention and underestimates the blood sword. During recovery, he creates a sea vortex to seize beasts and drains their essence through the neck, leaving skeletons across the seabed. The method replenishes him but cannot reverse Blue Dream's realm-damaging injury quickly; a century is still required, leaving him vulnerable when Wang Lin arrives. (Chapters 1454, 1678, and 1792)

• Wang Lin: Miao Yin helps attack the former Lord of the Sealed Realm, hunts Wang Lin for his bead, and loses an avatar and Joss Flames to him. After further defeats, Wang Lin seals his original body for reincarnation on the Immortal Astral Continent. (Chapters 1262, 1434–1460, 1691, and 1792–1793)
• Master Simo: Both are Ancient Star System powers observing Wang Lin's trial, but Miao Yin treats the Sovereign Council's conflict as a matter requiring payment rather than Simo's personal vendetta. (Chapters 1404 and 1405)
