Grandmaster Yun Luo
Grandmaster Yun Luo is the Sovereign Council's divination specialist, using calculated signs and hidden identities to track Wang Lin through the Fallen Land. (Chapters 489 and 1661)
Biography
Hunting the Scatter Thunder Clan's destroyer
After Wang Lin destroys the Scatter Thunder Clan, the Sovereign Council assigns Grandmaster Yun Luo to find him. Her great divination reconstructs his appearance and origin-soul imprint, narrows his location to a specific Ancient Star domain, and supports a system-wide kill order. She then identifies the precise cultivation planet before Wang Lin escapes toward the Fallen Land. The success makes her dangerous without requiring direct pursuit: regional cultivators search on her forecast, while Master Simo follows her later calculation into territory outside the Council's control. Wang Lin treats the prediction seriously enough to manipulate the Fallen Land's Great Emperor as protection against the hunters. (Chapters 1364–1374)
Failed readings at the Fallen Land
Yun Luo attends Wang Lin's Young Emperor trial beside Master Simo and repeatedly divines his prospects. Her forecast says he faces an almost impassable life-and-death trial, but his defiance pushes events outside the reading. When she tries to force clarity, her fingertips tear, her hand becomes a bloody ruin, and the backlash shows her a figure associated with the destruction of the Ancient Star System. The vision terrifies her because Wang Lin's back increasingly resembles that future destroyer. She eventually stops divining him rather than endure another backlash, returns to closed-door cultivation, and carries the uncertainty into every later encounter. (Chapters 1396–1426 and 1434)
Strategist of the Outer Realm invasion
The Sovereign Council names Yun Luo strategist for the war against the Inner Realm. She identifies enemy knowledge of the Seven-Colored Realms, emphasizes that the invasion's real purpose is establishing a transfer array rather than indiscriminate killing, and marks Wang Lin for immediate death. At the Realm Sealing Formation she commands more than one hundred thousand cultivators, directs specialized clans against the Heaven Splitting Axe, and deploys sealing elders at critical targets. Her organization initially leaves the Inner Realm passive and unable to form its own ranks. Wang Lin recognizes that killing the commander can collapse that coordination, breaks through the army, and destroys her battlefield avatar and command island. (Chapters 1516–1534)
Original body and escape
Yun Luo's original body survives in the Ancient Star System after the avatar's loss. The prophecy now dominates her reaction to Wang Lin: when he later appears before the assembled realms, seeing his back confirms the shape she feared. During the final eruption, she does not rely on calculation or the Sovereign's defense. She crushes a one-use jade left by her dying teacher, escaping through space to her clan altar while the other invading Outer Realm cultivators perish. The choice preserves her life and confirms the limit of her loyalty—once the future she predicted stands before her, survival outweighs command. (Chapters 1653–1661)
Appearance and personality
Yun Luo is a beautiful, long-haired woman usually described in black or cloud-silk clothing. Her composure is quiet and controlled while calculations succeed, but divination backlash makes her visibly pale and frightened. She is methodical enough to command armies around a hidden strategic objective and cautious enough to abandon a reading when the subject exceeds her power. Her cold public bearing coexists with a private, growing dread of the future she has seen. (Chapters 1367, 1396, 1409–1416, 1516, and 1653–1656)
Abilities and cultivation
Great divination
Yun Luo's core art calculates a target's appearance, origin-soul imprint, region, and likely future. She manifests results in a water curtain, uses rapid finger seals, and can direct a star-system search from afar. The method also reads strategic conditions, allowing her to discover that Inner Realm experts learned about the Sovereign's hidden Seven-Colored Realms. Accuracy is not certainty. Powerful interference, chaotic causality, or a subject beyond her range produces physical backlash: her fingertips split, her right hand explodes, and she coughs blood. Wang Lin's trial and future repeatedly cross that threshold. After seeing the catastrophic figure behind him, fear itself becomes another practical limit, as she refuses to calculate him again. (Chapters 1364–1367, 1405–1416, and 1516)
Battlefield calculation and command
As commander, Yun Luo converts divination into deployment. She reads immediate threats, assigns the Sword Clan's blood-fed Soul Breaking Strike to stall the Heaven Splitting Axe, and sends three Sealing Extermination elders after Wang Lin regardless of cost. While he approaches her, her hands continue forming seals to find a survival route. Her leadership's strength is coordination: specialists act in sequence toward the transfer-array objective rather than fighting as isolated cultivators. Its limitation is personal concentration and centralization. Once Wang Lin destroys her avatar, the Outer Realm loses the commander whose planning had kept the Inner Realm reactive, and the army's advantage collapses. (Chapters 1516–1534)
Avatars and teacher's escape jade
The Yun Luo killed in the first invasion is an avatar rather than her original body. This lets her preserve knowledge despite battlefield death, but the loss still removes her from command and leaves the original with the memory and fear of defeat. Her final defense is a jade her teacher refined while dying and fused with space. Crushing it moves her from any location to her clan altar, after which it shatters. The device is a single escape, not a combat technique; she uses it only when Wang Lin's power confirms that remaining would fulfill the disastrous future. (Chapters 1534, 1653, and 1661)
Relationships
- Wang Lin: Yun Luo tracks him, foresees his connection to the Ancient Star System's destruction, and makes killing him a strategic priority. He destroys her war avatar; her original later escapes rather than face him. (Chapters 1364–1426, 1516–1534, and 1656–1661)
- Master Simo: Her calculations guide Simo's pursuit, and she accompanies and supports him at the Fallen Land, even suppressing ethereal fire in his body after the old Vermillion Bird attacks. (Chapters 1374 and 1403–1426)
- Li Qianmei: Li Qianmei is present among forces whose choices intersect the Sovereign Council's campaign, but the cited passages establish no close personal relationship with Yun Luo. (Chapters 1396 and 1404)
Items
- Her teacher's one-use spatial jade returns her to the clan altar and saves her from the final destruction of the Outer Realm force. (Chapter 1661)
