Snaketooth
Snaketooth is a Longsong Rat whose move to Neverwinter replaces gang dependence with paid work, military service, and the possibility of an ordinary future. (Chapters 459 and 1099)
Biography
Trading the Rat hierarchy for a future
Cold and gang violence force Snaketooth to think first about keeping the younger Rats alive, and he shares what protection he can with Joe and his companions. Neverwinter's expansion gives him a choice beyond serving another boss: he leaves the street hierarchy, works and serves under the new order, and eventually earns regular pay. With the old Rat organizations dismantled, he can confess his feelings to Paper without treating affection as another dangerous gang transaction. (Chapters 459–463, 930, and 1099–1100)
Appearance and personality
No stable detailed physical portrait is established. Snaketooth is wary, resourceful, and protective of weaker companions; later laughter and awkward honesty with Paper show how security softens habits built under street violence. (Chapters 459 and 1100)
Magic and abilities
Snaketooth has no magic. His demonstrated strengths are street survival, reading gang danger, physical labor, and adapting to disciplined work or service. Those skills help him endure poverty but cannot protect his group from a stronger Rat organization without wider institutional change. (Chapters 459–463 and 1099)
Relationships
Paper is first one of the vulnerable young Rats Snaketooth wants to protect and later the person to whom he admits romantic feelings. Tigerclaw shares the group's passage from Longsong's streets into Neverwinter's workforce. (Chapters 459–463 and 1099–1100)
