Tigerclaw

Tigerclaw is a young Longsong Rat who uses his strength to shield smaller companions before finding safer paid work in Neverwinter. (Chapter 459)

Biography

Putting himself between danger and the younger Rats

Tigerclaw is a strapping boy in a street group where size can invite recruitment into brutality. He instead walks in front and tries to protect younger companions, even attempting to intervene when Sunflower is taken despite being overmatched and struck down. Moving to Neverwinter with Snaketooth gives that protective instinct a viable consequence: paid labor and the eventual reunion with Sunflower replace gang obedience as the group's means of survival. (Chapters 459–463, 1067, and 1099)

Appearance and personality

Tigerclaw is described as a strong, strapping boy. He is courageous and protective, though his failed intervention against a stronger gang shows that determination without power or support cannot always save someone. (Chapters 459 and 463)

Magic and abilities

Tigerclaw has no magic. His demonstrated strengths are physical robustness, street awareness, loyalty, and ordinary labor. He cannot defeat an organized gang by strength alone; safety becomes possible only when Neverwinter removes the Rat hierarchy and provides lawful work. (Chapters 463 and 1099)

Relationships

Snaketooth shares Tigerclaw's responsibility for the younger Rats and later his working life in Neverwinter. Sunflower's abduction and eventual return give Tigerclaw's protective choices their clearest personal stakes. (Chapters 459–463, 1067, and 1099)
