Sigard

Sigard was a Fire Dragon Prince, Helios's son, and Melina's chosen partner. His opportunism during the royal trial and the deaths attributed to his conduct made him a target of Aengus Degaro, who killed him and absorbed his body. (Chapters 170–182)

Biography

Aria VS Sigard to Rivalry

Sigard fought Aria in Dragon form and exploited the instant she was distracted by Aengus, striking with fire-charged claws rather than allowing her to recover. He had already sensed Aengus as dangerous and launched an unsuccessful preemptive attack. More seriously, his group tried to seize treasures while other contestants were occupied with monsters, creating the crisis in which Mara and Lark died while saving a companion. Sigard dismissed those deaths as the fate of the weak and entered the trial rather than answer for them. After Aengus returned as a Leviathan, he pulled Sigard away with Death Strings, killed him despite Melina's rescue attempt, and synthesized the corpse; the prince's spatial storage and its contents were then taken. Appearance and personality

Sigard appears both as a human prince and a powerful Fire Dragon. The dragon body has massive claws that crackle with explosive fire energy; the supplied chapters do not give a detailed inventory of his humanoid features beyond his place among striking, royally equipped Dragonborne. He is proud, opportunistic, and contemptuous of weaker people, yet grows visibly afraid when Aengus's Leviathan form makes clear that neither his rank nor his father's authority can save him. Skills, laws, and abilities

Sigard can transform between humanoid and Fire Dragon forms. In dragon form he combines great size and claw strength with explosive fire energy, using a distracted opponent's opening for a potentially lethal lunge. His threat perception is sharp enough to notice danger from Aengus before others do, but his preemptive strike fails and his confidence exceeds his results: Aria holds her own, and Aengus's Leviathan form dwarfs him. No named fire skill, rank, system panel, or range limit is provided. (Chapters 170–179)

Aengus's Death Strings can seize Sigard across the battlefield and drain his life while pulling him beyond his allies' reach. Melina and Aurora cannot catch the pair before they vanish, and Sigard has no demonstrated counter to the death energy. His corpse remains usable for synthesis, through which Aengus gains power associated with the absorbed bodies, but those later gains should not be retroactively treated as a complete list of Sigard's personal abilities. Items

Sigard carries a spatial bracelet, also called his ring in the narration, containing tens of thousands of gold coins and several Nyx-creature soul cores. After killing him, Aengus takes the storage device and transfers out the gold, so it is no longer in Sigard's custody. (Chapter 182)
