Joining the Army to A Historical Signature

Malcolm joins the royal war effort as the aging king's expected successor, carrying Leon's confidence that he can guide Arkanis toward prosperity. At the command council he permits Aengus Degaro's infiltration team to form and consults the young captain rather than obstructing an unconventional plan. Watching Aengus reveal power beyond the Transcendental rank convinces Malcolm that victory is possible, but the subsequent absorption of the defeated imperial army also exposes how little control the royal family retains. When the king accepts alliance with the Young Emperor as unavoidable, Malcolm responds calmly, prioritizing the kingdom's survival over wounded authority. (Chapters 215–234)

Appearance and personality
