Northern Duke’s arrival to A Historical Signature

Milroy arrives at the war council as the king's youngest brother and the Transcendental defender of Arkanis's wintry northern border, projecting enough authority to challenge the young “Zero” as a merely S-Rank intruder. His abrasive suspicion gives way to action when he insists on joining the infiltration mission, awkwardly denying personal concern while emphasizing success. After Aengus Degaro reveals power beyond the Transcendentals, Milroy openly mocks his own earlier judgment and helps explain the victory to Milphomor. He remains wary that royal generals may truly defect to the new emperor, but accepts his brother's decision that Arkanis is already bound to Aengus's cause. (Chapters 224–234)

Appearance and personality

Milroy wears thick animal skins over powerful muscles and radiates an aura comparable to, perhaps stronger than, the kingdom's generals. He is overbearing, proud, and initially intimidating, traits that make Leon question his ambition without proving disloyalty. He is also capable of embarrassment, self-mockery, practical cooperation, and candid concern for his homeland once evidence overturns his assumptions. (Chapters 224–234)

Skills, laws, and abilities

Milroy is explicitly SS-Rank, also called Transcendental, and is strong enough to match Leon in the latter's assessment. His long defense of the northern border against barbarian invasions establishes sustained combat and command experience.
