Soleil

Soleil is a Mythical Weapon that normally rests as a golden ring and manifests as a flame-aligned spear. A treasure of the Hellan Royal Family, it is also the weapon through which William acquired the Sun Knight Job Class. (Chapters 208, 218, 222)

History

Royal investiture

King Noah presented Soleil to William at his knighting ceremony as both a symbol of authority and a weapon meant to defend the kingdom. The System recognized it as a Mythical Weapon and offered William the Sun Knight class as soon as he received the ring. (Chapter 208)

Weapon of the Sun God

William later learned that Soleil originally belonged to Lugh, who lent it to Astrid; she in turn passed it to a warrior who fought for humanity during the Dark Era. William continued to use it into the final war, pairing its flames with Stormcaller's lightning against Surtr. (Chapters 332, 1453)

Abilities and properties

  • Soleil changes between a wearable golden ring and a spear that answers William's summons. (Chapters 208, 218)
  • Acquiring it unlocks access to the Sun Knight Job Class. The class levels only through sunlight; its class bonuses should not be treated as unconditional bonuses of the spear itself. (Chapters 208, 222)
  • The spear emits radiant flames and fireballs and can combine its attack with Stormcaller's lightning. (Chapters 918, 1453)
  • It absorbs hostile flames as a power source; after consuming Augustus's blaze, the spear turned dark red. (Chapter 544)
  • It can move and attack independently near William and can serve as an aerial platform. (Chapters 918, 1019)
  • Its special ability lets William teleport instantly to Soleil's location. Only William is shown making that transit, so he sometimes gives the spear to an ally or leaves it at a destination as a return anchor. (Chapters 288, 671–672, 1046, 1194)
  • William's Sun Knight state brings out only a fraction of Soleil's full divine power; the corpus does not give the spear a fixed damage value. (Chapter 332)
