Arwen

Arwen is the Saintess of the World Tree, wife of Maxwell, and William's mother. Revered by the Elves, she remains a moral and familial anchor even when the story records her mostly through the choices and memories of others.

The Saintess behind William's inheritance

Arwen chooses Maxwell despite other admirers and becomes the mother of the son whose actions reshape both human and Elven history. During the Central Continent period, Elves invoke her status when explaining their debt to William and Maxwell, while William names her among the few Elves he trusts without reservation. She later warns William through an old tale, accepts Soleil for safekeeping when he refuses to abandon his mission, and is finally shown reunited peacefully with her husband.
