Priscilla

Priscilla is a black-haired archer who begins as William's lethal rival at Hellan Royal Academy and becomes his vice-prefect, battlefield officer, and one of Sidonie's most trusted retainers. Her later role as one of the seven women who manifest Cathy, the Virtuous Lady of Hope, links her academy loyalty to the world's final crisis. She eventually admits that her feelings for William began after he defeated her and becomes his wife. (Chapters 136–212, 285–496, 845, 1134–1363, and 1427)

Biography

Rival archer, commander, and face of Hope

Priscilla first tries to eliminate William during the academy's Head Prefect competition and independently defeats thirty candidates before conserving her strength for the dangerous night. After William bests her, rivalry becomes disciplined service: he trusts her as vice-prefect and gives her command of the archers during the Dungeon Outbreak. She later directs the Angorian Knights during the academy invasion, carefully ordering them to strike only younger magicians who are actively attacking others and to spare uninvolved fourth-years. During the Southern conflict Priscilla regroups William's forces, carries sensitive messages, and enters Sidonie's service as a loyal retainer and adviser with a place behind the imperial throne. Much later she appears among the seven women whose union manifests Hope; she remains conscious inside Cathy and withholds consent from a pregnancy that would affect every participant. After the war and marriage, Priscilla tells William that his academy victory made him her first love. This completes a change from opponent to officer and partner without erasing the independent judgment she displays in both command and the Hope collective. Appearance and personality

Priscilla is a beautiful woman with long black hair. She is patient, observant, disciplined, and lethal: even during a competition she knows when darkness makes further hunting wasteful, and in real battle she distinguishes hostile targets from students who should be spared. Her loyalty to Sidonie is paired with administrative competence, while her long-concealed feelings for William make her reserved rather than indifferent. (Chapters 136, 285, 454–496, and 1427)

Priscilla is an expert archer capable of defeating many academy candidates alone, erasing her presence in a forest, sensing danger, and killing hostile magicians with individual arrows. She also commands archer formations from prepared watchtowers and coordinates mounted Angorian forces.
