Faker
Faker is the Overgeared Kingdom's chief assassin and the commander of the Overgeared Shadows. Beginning with the normal Master of Swiftness class, he reaches the summit of assassination through control, discipline, and Kasim's shadow teachings, eventually inheriting the legendary name Lantier. He works away from public attention, protects Grid's family and state, and turns a profession associated with murder into a long practice of surveillance, rescue, and self-sacrifice. (Chapters 53–54, 238–239, 248–249, 699, 774–777, 779, 902, 1279–1281, 1508, 1761, and 2015)
Biography
Pagma's Legacy and Winston
Faker first appears as the Tzedakah Guild's number-one assassin, assigned to track the disguised Euphemina after the Winston item-making contest. His pride in near-perfect stealth is shaken when her exceptional insight detects him, but the resulting battle also establishes his defining advantage: he understands how to apply movement, timing, terrain, and tools rather than trusting a skill's description. He defeats Euphemina despite the breadth of her copied magic by varying his attacks and using an anti-magic explosive dagger. The episode makes him the guild's standard for execution and shows why raw class rating alone cannot measure him. (Chapters 53–54)
Reidan and the Overgeared Alliance
After the guild joins Grid, Faker becomes less a competitive ranker than the hidden security structure behind the new territory. He fights in major raids when necessary, but his central responsibility is information: he trains and deploys the Overgeared Shadows, watches threats that armies cannot openly approach, and reports directly to Grid and Lauel. His Master of Swiftness class gives him explosive movement but poor endurance, so he learns to choose short decisive interventions and withdraw before prolonged combat erases his advantage. This operational discipline lets a normal-class assassin remain a top combatant while also building an organization capable of protecting a kingdom. (Chapters 203, 238–239, 248–249, 287, 294, 297, 299, 360, 369, and 373)
Kingdom Building and the Great Demons
Faker's priorities become clearest during the attack on Khan. He fights while shielding the poisoned blacksmith, accepts wounds and even prepares a suicidal Assassin's Mindset rather than abandon him, and places rescue ahead of his own advancement. Kasim recognizes that talent and entrusts him with Doran's portion of Lantier's knowledge, opening a hidden path that can unite Doran's methods with the King of Shadows' teachings. Faker does not pause to celebrate the quest because Khan is still dying. The failure to save Grid's loved one remains a personal wound, but it also turns his pursuit of greater assassination skill into a duty to prevent the same loss from happening again. (Chapters 750, 774–777, and 779)
East Continent and Imperial Reckoning
Faker converts Lantier's techniques into a defensive weapon for the Overgeared Kingdom. He can emerge from allies' shadows, summon shadow soldiers to shield them, and use stealth and mobility to eliminate officers who threaten the formation. Against Berith, he intercepts an attack aimed at Grid and uses Lantier's methods and shadow soldiers to survive the collision despite an assassin's low durability. His group also becomes one of the continent's strongest intelligence networks. These campaigns establish the “Death God” reputation, but the title hides his actual pattern: he spends his strength creating safe routes, delaying stronger enemies, and killing only the targets whose removal protects the larger force. (Chapters 894, 902, 979, 1012, and 1052–1053)
Yangbans, Gods, and New Legends
The search for the current Lantier brings Faker into direct conflict with the inherited office's corrupted history. He returns badly poisoned from investigation, refuses to let the danger halt his work, and ultimately completes the class quest that identifies him as the legendary assassin Lantier. This is not merely a statistical promotion. The system recognizes a player who has already surpassed ordinary-class expectations through technique, while Faker takes responsibility for preventing Lantier's methods from leaking through Baal's servant. His new status strengthens the shadows that protect the kingdom and makes his relationship with Kasim that of a successor who can finally carry both Doran's and his teacher's incomplete legacies forward. (Chapters 1279–1281 and 1340)
Apostles, Dragons, and the Overgeared World
As Lantier, Faker accepts missions that only his particular combination of senses and shadow movement can survive. He descends alone into the Abyss, suppressing his presence among demonic creatures, halting dangerous falls by moving between wall shadows, and continuing despite the psychological burden of an apparently bottomless descent. In hell, he and Kasim hunt the mirror demon across reflective terrain and train the Overgeared Shadows to remain composed in nightmare conditions. These missions expand his role from royal assassin to explorer and counter-infiltrator: he gathers knowledge from places armies cannot enter, then converts that knowledge into protection for Grid, Lord, and the wider alliance. (Chapters 1407, 1489–1490, 1508–1509, 1536, 1539, 1543, and 1609)
Baal, Asgard, and the Complete Ending
During the assault on Baal, Faker uses Kill List, designated-target tools, traps, tracking, and stealth to harass an Absolute with attack power comparable to Grid's apostles, though Baal's status eventually exposes the physical gulf between them. Later battles show the result of continued growth: Faker becomes a Transcendent, combines shadow and dark magic with a dragon weapon, blocks attacks directed at Jishuka, and moves her out of a cultivator battlefield through shadows. He later uses Shadow Linkage to share part of his senses with the empire's strongest people and respond to crises as leader of the Overgeared Shadows. Even at Grid's real-world wedding, his latest appearance places him in charge of guiding heads of state, carrying his solitary ethic of killing and protection beyond the game. (Chapters 1761, 1912, 1979–1980, 2015, 2048, and 2057)
Appearance and personality
Faker is a slim young man of Korean and Canadian heritage. Outside Satisfy he is identified as Ray, with white skin, small lips, dark eyes, and straight ebony hair; dark sunglasses help him pass unnoticed despite being conspicuous in a small Canadian town. In the game he is usually associated with dark clothing, daggers, and a presence so thoroughly erased that observers notice the attack before the man. Even after dangerous missions he is normally composed and neat, making his poisoned, disheveled return from pursuing Lantier especially alarming. (Chapters 750 and 1279)
He is quiet, restrained, diligent, and intensely private. Faker rarely explains affection verbally; he communicates it by guarding people, appearing at the instant they are threatened, or accepting a cost without seeking recognition. He is also shy enough to retreat into a shadow when praised. His calm is practical rather than emotionless: Khan's danger makes him panic, Grid's example removes the limits he once placed on effort, and his normally impassive face softens when he reassures someone he protects. (Chapters 750, 774–776, and 1912)
Abilities, classes, and skills
Faker's combat system combines extreme movement, stealth, perception, assassination tools, and shadow control. He begins with a normal class whose speed can be disabled by terrain or exhaustion, then adds Kasim's teaching, a shadow-related secondary class, the legendary Lantier class, transcendence, and later dark and dragon-weapon interactions. His power remains execution-dependent: even at his latest state, Absolutes can exceed his perception and break his concealment. (Chapters 248–249, 588, 776, 1012, 1281, 1508, 1761, 1981, and 2014)
Master of Swiftness and assassination technique
Master of Swiftness is a control-intensive third-advancement assassin class centered on Acceleration and rapid lower-body techniques. Faker combines it with high-level Stealth, Assassin's Eyes, tracking, killing intent, daggers, poison resistance, traps, and precise movement. He can erase his presence without activating a skill by controlling his breathing and stride, then change an attack's application to defeat opponents who possess superior skills. The class has severe limits: it lacks the shadow movement and defenses of other assassin branches, its stamina drains rapidly under Acceleration, poor durability punishes direct exchanges, and environments that suppress speed can neutralize its only innate specialty. Faker's growth comes from compensating through judgment, items, and technique rather than pretending those restrictions disappear. (Chapters 53–54, 137, 238–239, 248–249, 288, 588, and 775–776)
Lantier's techniques and shadow control
Kasim gives Faker the knowledge inherited by Doran after seeing that Faker's talent can unite the incomplete branches of Lantier's legacy. The resulting techniques let him move through shadows, create and control shadow soldiers, form weapons and barriers from darkness, and hide inside another person's shadow. Control has a mental cost. Early Shadow Technique permits only a small number of soldiers, and directing all of them disperses his concentration enough to weaken his own body; strong light, unusual terrain, enemy detection, or Absolute status can also expose him. Training with Kasim and the Overgeared Shadows steadily expands the scale and flexibility, until Faker becomes the legendary Lantier and can use the network for combat, reconnaissance, escort, and mass protection. (Chapters 776, 840, 902, 1012, 1180, 1280–1281, 1353, and 1508)
In his latest state, shadow magic interacts with allied powers and equipment rather than functioning only as concealment. Faker overlays a shadow sword on Kraugel's attack, combines shadow and dark magic through a dragon weapon to shatter cultivator defenses, raises hundreds of soldiers around Jishuka, and uses Greed as a shadow curtain that consumes incoming projectiles. Shadow Linkage also shares a portion of his senses with several powerful allies, extending his response network across the empire. He is a Transcendent with exceptional insight and decision-making, but cannot fully follow battles between Absolutes and must still choose escape or support when raw hierarchy overwhelms technique. (Chapters 1911, 1981, 2015, and 2048)
Kill List, target preparation, and limits
Kill List strengthens Faker against designated enemies and works with prepared assassination tools such as Surprise Attack, whose power rises when a target is named. Against Baal this preparation gives him apostle-level attack power and lets him repeatedly interfere with the demon's senses, yet it does not grant Absolute status; Baal eventually prevents him from entering the shadows and throws him through a wall. The episode is representative of Faker's overall mechanics. Research, designation, terrain, timing, and surprise can let him threaten beings above his normal statistics, but once those conditions fail he remains vulnerable and depends on allies to cover his recovery or withdrawal. (Chapters 1641 and 1761)

Relationships
Grid changes Faker's idea of reasonable effort. Faker begins as a guild specialist evaluating an unknown blacksmith, then becomes one of the people Grid trusts with his family, intelligence network, and most sensitive threats. He rarely asks for praise, but his protection of Khan, Lord, and Grid's allies makes him one of the kingdom's most reliable confidants. (Chapters 53–54, 750, 774–777, 779, 902, and 1950)
Kasim is Faker's teacher, partner, and predecessor in shadow technique. He first notices Faker while guarding Lord, recognizes talent greater than his own, and hands over Doran's knowledge so that Faker can complete Lantier's methods. Their later cooperation is complementary rather than competitive: they share shadows, raise soldiers together, and protect Lord, while Kasim acknowledges Faker as the greatest assassin of the era. (Chapters 287, 776, 1012, 1353, and 1950)
Jishuka is first his Tzedakah guild master and later an ally whose survival demonstrates his changed style. He obeys her information assignments in Winston and continues operating outside the spotlight after the guild becomes Overgeared. In the cultivation battles he shields her, emerges from her shadow, and carries her away when direct victory is impossible, showing that his mature assassination system is equally a guardian's craft. (Chapters 53 and 2015)
