Sky Demon Sword

The Sky Demon Sword is the true black sword associated with the founding Sky Demon. Unlike the replica carried by later lords, it is composed of separate black metal pieces that can gather into a sword or wrap around Chun Yeowun's wrists.

History

The Demon Seal Cave

Chun Yeowun discovers twenty-four black metal pieces while confronting the dragon-serpent illusion in the Demon Seal Cave. They assemble into a blade engraved with the sword's name, induce a vision of the founder fighting the Imoogi, and later reform as armguards around Yeowun's wrists. (Chapters 116–118)

A Hidden Sign of Legitimacy

Yeowun conceals the weapon because the Sky Demon Sword symbolizes the cult's lordship and the reigning lord carries only a replica. Marakim sees Yeowun use the true sword but protects the secret; the weapon later becomes open evidence of Yeowun's connection to the founder's legacy. (Chapters 124, 206, 226, and 239)

The Imoogi and the Non-existent Sword

Later revelations establish that the sword contains the Imoogi's core and preserves the consciousness or remnant of Chun Ma, who observes Yeowun through it. In the final battle aboard the Time Jet, Yeowun develops the "Non-existent Sky Demon Sword," a formless extension of the sword art powerful enough to cut both the Blade God and the aircraft. (Chapters 434, 467, and 483)

Abilities and properties

  • Twenty-four linked metal pieces transform between sword and wristguard forms. (Chapters 116 and 118)
  • The weapon channels the Sword Force of the Sky Demon and produces the black force qi associated with that legacy. (Chapter 118)
  • It carries the Imoogi's core and can act as a vessel for the founder's surviving presence. (Chapters 434 and 467)
  • Its unusual metal is later compared to the meteorite material in the Ice Cold Staff. (Chapter 433)
