Marakim

Marakim, also known as Anonymous, is the masked Great Guardian of the Demonic Cult and a hidden guardian of the Sky Demon Order. He tests Chun Yeowun's claim to the true legacy, rejects the old Lord's attempt to control his testimony, and becomes one of the new Lord's strongest advisers.

Biography

Masked Great Guardian

Marakim appears beside the Lord at the academy opening with his face hidden behind a distinctive mask. He is the Great Guardian, one of the cult's foremost protectors, but his public office is only part of his function. His movement earns him the title Wind God, and he can observe even Submeng's covert academy visits without revealing himself. To ordinary cult members he is a silent defender of the current Lord; in secret he protects the continuity of the Sky Demon Order beyond any single administration. (Chapters 8, 19)

Under the identity Anonymous, Marakim preserves martial knowledge through indirect interventions. He transmits different portions of the Sword Demon lineage to rival descendants rather than allowing one damaged branch to disappear. This concealment makes his actions look contradictory until his purpose is understood: he serves the authentic inheritance and waits for evidence of a true Chun Ma, not merely the person occupying the throne. Testing the True Sky Demon

Marakim directly tests Yeowun during the succession crisis. The confrontation is dangerous because both men possess knowledge connected to the Sky Demon lineage, but it also gives Marakim the proof he has been awaiting. He recognizes the Sky Demon Sword, sees Yeowun perform the complete sword formation, and learns that the fragments surviving in the cult are not the whole art. Marakim reveals that Great High Lord Chun Inji taught him the Sword Force of the Sky Demon and accepts Yeowun as the current Chun Ma. (Chapters 222–229)

This allegiance is based on demonstrated inheritance rather than affection. Marakim has the speed and strength to make the test meaningful, while Yeowun's complete formation supplies evidence that political declarations cannot. Once satisfied, Marakim changes from examiner to protector. He fights beside Yeowun and Yin Moha, taking internal injuries serious enough to require guarded meditation on the journey back to the cult. (Chapters 228–230)

Truth against the Old Lord

The old regime attempts to force Marakim into false testimony. He refuses and states what he witnessed, even though Great Guardians have been controlled through a poison parasite keyed to the Sky Demon's qi. The parasite is designed as an institutional leash: when activated, it can punish or coerce a guardian from inside the body regardless of ordinary armor or vigilance. Yeowun removes Marakim's parasite, breaking that inherited mechanism of control and freeing his loyalty from the old Lord's immediate retaliation. (Chapters 233, 256)

After the transfer of power, Marakim advises Yeowun on appointments and recommends Suh Deng for senior responsibility. His counsel carries unusual weight because he understands both the cult's public offices and the concealed history behind its martial inheritance. He does not try to govern in Yeowun's place; he supplies names, precedents, and warnings so the new Lord can decide with more than raw strength. (Chapter 260)

Great Plains and Changbai Campaigns

Marakim remains a front-line combatant in the later campaigns. He recognizes the Extreme Art of Blade God for assembled leaders, identifying an enemy system whose movements might otherwise appear inexplicable. Against Dan Jucheon's layered ice defenses, Marakim uses the Twenty Four Demon Swords and raises his internal energy many times over to break through. The exchange places him at the beginning of the Supreme-Master realm, powerful enough to threaten legendary opponents but not yet able to use every advanced technique without strain. (Chapters 405, 424, 450)

His Air Sword demonstrates both that advancement and its limit. Marakim can condense and direct a blade of force without relying on physical steel, giving him reach and attack angles unavailable to ordinary swordsmanship. Doing so demands intense concentration. When the projected blade breaks against a stronger tornado-like force, the disrupted energy feeds damage back through his circulation and makes him cough blood. Later exertion adds to his internal injuries. He can still pursue enemies and remain on duty, but the damage prevents him from safely handling an unstable spirit-beast core when the group needs a vessel for it. (Chapters 450, 465, 470)

Appearance and personality

Marakim's defining visual feature is the mask that keeps his face unknown even among senior cult members. He is controlled, patient, and comfortable allowing others to misunderstand his purpose. His loyalty is principled rather than automatic: he obeys while an office serves the Sky Demon inheritance, but refuses false testimony when a Lord tries to replace truth with command.

Martial arts and abilities

Supreme-Master cultivation

Marakim begins among the cult's highest-ranked guardians and later reaches the opening stage of the Supreme-Master realm. He can multiply his released internal energy, project force over distance, and pressure defenses that stop ordinary masters. His realm is not complete mastery: sustained projection, stronger enemy forces, and accumulated internal injuries still disrupt his circulation. (Chapters 8, 424, 450)

Wind God movement

His running and concealment skills let him move faster than other senior guardians can readily track and observe covert activity without announcing his presence. The art is ideal for interception, surveillance, and pursuit; it does not prevent internal damage from slowing him after a hard battle. (Chapter 19; Chapters 465, 470)

Twenty Four Demon Swords

A sword system organized into twenty-four forms. Marakim unfolds it against Dan Jucheon's Ice White God Sword, repeatedly breaking generated ice before raising his internal energy tenfold when evasion is no longer enough. The scene establishes linked offensive pressure and a heavy energy requirement against Supreme-Master defenses, but does not catalogue the purpose of each individual form. (Chapter 424)

Air Sword

Marakim condenses force qi into a controllable sword independent of a physical blade. It can be steered at range and bypass the fixed reach of a weapon, but its shape depends on concentration. If a superior force shatters it, the failed projection sends a shock back into his internal-energy system. (Chapter 450)

Sword Force of the Sky Demon

Chun Inji teaches Marakim knowledge from the Sky Demon lineage so he can recognize and protect the true inheritance. This gives him a basis for testing claimants and comparing incomplete transmitted forms with Yeowun's complete sword formation. It does not make him the owner of the Sky Demon Sword or the Chun Ma. (Chapters 222–229)

Martial recognition and poison-parasite limits

Marakim identifies the Blade God's Extreme Art and understands concealed relationships among rival sword lineages. He also survives the guardian parasite's coercion long enough to speak truth, but does not neutralize it by cultivation alone; Yeowun removes it. Even a Great Guardian remains vulnerable to an internal control mechanism prepared by his own institution. (Chapters 222–228, 233, 256, 405)

• Chun Yeowun: Marakim tests his inheritance, accepts him as Chun Ma after seeing the complete legacy, and becomes his protector and adviser.
