Pahin

Pahin is a recently promoted Palace Guard leader who uses the Lord's authority to isolate Chun Yeowun while secretly coordinating the Blade God faction's infiltration of the Demonic Cult.

Biography

Succession Crisis and Lordship

Pahin appears as the one-eyed commander attached to the Lord's Palace. He brings more than three hundred Buju Clan warriors around the Ghost Illusion mansion, reads the order sending Yeowun south with a small force, and insists that the Crown Prince depart without his closest protectors. Although he frames the deployment as an emergency command, the surrounding troops make it a trap backed by the Lord's seal. Pahin then blocks Marakim from preserving evidence of forbidden Blood Reversion and oversees the incinerator meant to destroy the body. His contempt for the Great Guardian's loyalty to Yeowun reveals that his own official loyalty is serving a different plan. (Chapters 229–235)

The cover begins breaking when Yin Moha beats Pahin at the incinerator and retrieves the evidence. He then tries to hold the Great Hall entrance, fighting Hou Sangwha and directing Palace Guards into the coup. Fellow conspirator Yi Burwi attempts to buy Pahin time, but Yin Moha captures Pahin and seals his blood points before he can escape. The wider investigation finds fourteen traitors among three hundred guards; only five predate Pahin's promotion, indicating that nine more entered or turned during his short leadership. Pahin refuses to provide useful information under Lee Hameng's questioning. Yeowun keeps him alive with Burwi and asks Baek Jongwu to reproduce the Blade God faction's coercive poison, but the necessary opium poppy is out of season. His latest state is therefore imprisonment and unresolved interrogation rather than execution. (Chapters 251–261)

Appearance and personality

Pahin wears a black covering over one eye and the robes of the Lord's Palace. He is controlled, authoritarian, and comfortable disguising coercion as procedure. Defeat exposes physical anger and embarrassment beneath that official calm, but he remains disciplined enough not to disclose his handlers under interrogation.

Pahin is strong enough to lead the Palace Guard and unfold a sword formation against Hou Sangwha after being injured by Yin Moha. He can delay her at the Great Hall entrance, but the chapters do not name the formation or assign him a formal realm. Command and infiltration

His office gives him access to palace orders, three hundred guards, protected facilities, and the cult's internal response network. Pahin uses those powers to surround a clan mansion, isolate Yeowun, block Marakim, destroy evidence, and mobilize guards during the coup. Operational secrecy

Pahin coordinates with Burwi through concealed timing and understands that Yeowun's knowledge threatens the larger Blade God network. He withstands ordinary questioning after capture.
