Noh Do-kyung — Nano Machine

Noh Do-kyung, the Fire Sword Master, is the longest-serving Sword Master among the Blade God faction's Six Martial Masters and the cautious veteran who sacrifices his arms trying to let an ally escape Chun Yeowun.

Biography

The Yulin Treaty and Great Plains

Noh arrives at the non-aggression treaty as a white-haired veteran carrying a red sword. His long tenure earns respect among the Six Martial Masters, and his senses are sharp enough that he and Lee Wook notice major energy arriving through the eastern gate before most people present. When Wang Jing targets Gar Mojam, Noh intervenes, calls attacking a weaker leader pathetic, and draws Wang into a close-range duel. He uses the cramped distance to offset Wang's greatswords, staying within three steps through specialized footwork and exploiting the difficulty of producing sword qi with such large weapons at short range. The exchange shows that Noh's caution does not prevent him from taking calculated risks against a worthy opponent. (Chapters 389–393)

That caution makes Noh distrust the plan to exhaust Yeowun through repeated attacks, but he remains with the other masters. In their synchronized strike, he sends Blade Ascension toward Yeowun's feet while Cha Yunkang and Lee Wook attack other lines. Yeowun's Black Flame Sword pierces and burns Noh's thigh; Noh's own fire qi cannot extinguish it, convincing him that continued battle means a meaningless death. He changes the purpose of the formation from killing Yeowun to buying Lee Wook an escape. (Chapters 396–397)

Noh slams his red sword into the ground and sends eight swords toward Yeowun, deliberately leaving the formation's center as an apparent weak point. When Yeowun enters and pierces his chest, Noh uses Blood Reversion to keep the blade from fully reaching his heart, locks both arms around him, and tells Lee Wook to run. He then tries to trigger the art's internal-energy self-destruction. Yeowun tears off both arms before the explosion can hold him, but the sacrifice gives Lee Wook time to leave the castle. Noh survives long enough to be captured in Chapter 398, black blood at his mouth and both arms gone; the corpus does not confirm a later death. (Chapters 397–398)

Appearance and personality

Noh is an old, white-haired man who carries a red sword on his back. He is stern, perceptive, and less eager for spectacle than his fellow masters. His caution is tactical rather than cowardly: once he decides victory is impossible, he willingly accepts crippling injury and probable death to create an escape for Lee Wook.

Martial arts and abilities

Sword Master cultivation and fire qi

Noh holds the Sword Master title longer than any of the other Six Martial Masters. He can release intense energy, perceive distant high-level auras, defend against Air Swords, and reinforce attacks with fire qi. His fire is not absolute: it cannot suppress the cold and burning interaction of Yeowun's Black Flame Sword, and the black flame continues consuming his wounded thigh. (Chapters 389–397)

Extreme Art footwork

Against Wang Jing, Noh uses unique footwork from the Extreme Art to avoid the greatswords without retreating more than three steps. Remaining close exploits the weapon's limited room to create sword qi. The maneuver depends on reading the greatswords' range and accepting a narrow margin for error; it is effective against Wang's weapon geometry but offers no general defense against Yeowun's broader abilities. Blade Ascension and eight-sword formation

Blade Ascension attacks the lower body and becomes one line of a three-master simultaneous assault. Noh later plants the red sword into the ground so that eight swords rush the target around a deliberately exposed center. That opening is bait: he expects an informed opponent to enter the formation at its weak point, allowing him to grapple at contact range. Yeowun recognizes both the technique and the trap but enters because his power still exceeds its intended counter. (Chapter 397)

Blood Reversion self-destruction

Noh activates Blood Reversion while being pierced, using its bodily alteration to prevent the Black Flame Sword from reaching his heart immediately. He then begins the art's self-destructive variant, which releases internal energy explosively from within the body. The technique can turn a doomed fighter into a restraining bomb, but it requires close contact and enough intact body control to complete the detonation. Yeowun counters it by tearing off Noh's arms, breaking the grapple before the sacrifice can stop him. (Chapter 397)
