Cha Yunkang

Cha Yunkang, the Crazy Sword Master, is a top-three Six Martial Master whose sharp survival instinct recognizes the treaty operation's collapse before his confidence in the clan's transformed body leads him into a fatal final assault.

Biography

The Yulin Treaty and Great Plains

Cha arrives as a white-haired man carrying a sword as tall as himself and casually dismisses concern for people the operation intends to kill. Among the top three Six Martial Masters, he is the only one said to have competed in the Extreme Art of the Blade God. When the buried bombs are exposed, his intuition immediately tells him the plan is collapsing. He rushes toward the northern gate and draws the enormous weapon against Marakim, bending backward beyond an ordinary body's limits to evade a neck strike and counter in one motion. (Chapters 389–390)

During the broader battle, Cha fights Marakim and initially boasts that the changing situation will produce a slaughter. Seeing the Forces of Great Heaven use what he regards as a stolen clan method and then watching Yeowun overturn every advantage changes his assessment. He sends Lee Wook a private warning that annihilation is imminent and argues for immediate retreat even if the masters are punished afterward. The request is tactically sound but loses to the belief that repeated attacks must eventually exhaust a Divine Master. (Chapters 395–396)

Cha joins Lee Wook and Noh Do-kyung in a three-direction assault, using the extreme move Sword Strike while the others attack Yeowun's feet and heart. Yeowun's Black Ice Sword freezes Cha's force qi and progressively slows his reactions. He shifts left to avoid decapitation, but the sword enters his right shoulder, cuts his upper body in half, and freezes the remains until they shatter on impact. His transformed flexibility and Supreme Master power delay the loss; neither provides resistance to cold qi operating on Yeowun's level. (Chapter 397)

Appearance and personality

Cha is white-haired and carries a sword as tall as his body. He is contemptuous, excitable, and eager to display the clan's superiority, but also possesses sharper survival intuition than his bravado suggests. He is willing to risk disciplinary punishment by recommending retreat, then remains loyal when the recommendation is rejected.

Supreme Master cultivation and transformed body

Cha is a Supreme Master among the top three Six Martial Masters. His body has surpassed ordinary human movement limits: while braced with a sword his own height, he can lean back far enough to evade a neck thrust and flow directly into a powerful counter. This extreme flexibility supports the clan's sword style, but it does not protect against force qi that freezes movement and tissue. (Chapters 389–390, 397)

Greatsword combat

His signature weapon is a sword as tall as himself. Cha can swing it with tremendous power while using versatile body movement to compensate for its size. The weapon supplies reach and force, but Marakim remains within ten steps after blocking, and Yeowun's faster elemental swords prevent Cha from creating the distance the great weapon needs. (Chapter 390)

Sword Strike

Sword Strike is one of Cha's most extreme moves and forms the middle line of the Six Martial Masters' synchronized attack on Yeowun. Its force qi is intended to combine with attacks at the feet and heart so one defender must answer several killing vectors at once. The Black Ice Sword repeatedly freezes the attack and its wielder, turning continued contact into cumulative slowing before the final cut. (Chapter 397)

Battlefield intuition

Cha recognizes the operation's failure as soon as the hidden explosives are discovered and later concludes that the entire force must retreat. This judgment is rapid and accurate, but it is advisory rather than commanding: he needs other Sword Masters' consent and cannot override the final exhaustion strategy. (Chapters 390, 396)
