Gam Miyan

Gam Miyan is Gam Rosu's granddaughter, whose disappearance leads Chun Yeowun's party into the Blue Sky Brotherhood's affairs.

Biography

Captivity and a New Family

Gam Miyan is the granddaughter and medical student of Gam Rosu, the Godly Doctor. Her disappearance becomes the price of Rosu's cooperation with Chun Yeowun, leading his party to interrogate members of the network that knows where she is held. Rosu describes Miyan's muscular conditioning and the dot on her nose so the rescuers can identify her. (Chapters 293, 303)

Miyan has spent roughly a year with the Yongho Family pirates by the time they arrive. She forms a relationship with the First Mate, regards the pirates as family, and has his child. The relationship does not erase the original kidnapping, but it explains why her later conduct is not simply obedience under a momentary threat: her life and loyalties have changed during captivity. The Failed Rescue

When Yeowun's party infiltrates the relocating pirate base, Miyan blows a whistle and helps draw them into a prepared trap. Bakgi disarms her dagger and seals her blood points, while the pirate captain threatens to kill her baby if she leaves or the crew is harmed. Miyan's fear for the child is real, but so is her grief when Yeowun destroys the ships and kills the people she now considers her own. (Chapters 304–310)

Yang Danwa retrieves the baby alive. Once Miyan can speak, she identifies the dead First Mate as her husband and rejects the rescuers' claim that they acted for her grandmother. She correctly infers that they need Rosu's services and threatens to prevent that cooperation so they will experience the loss she has suffered. (Chapters 310–311)

Death and Concealment

Yeowun decides that returning Miyan alive would let her block the treatment his faction requires. He orders her taken back regardless of consent, then kills her by breaking her neck when she continues to resist. The source therefore resolves both her allegiance and cause of death; describing her state of mind as wholly ambiguous would understate the year-long attachment explicitly given in the chapters. The cult conceals the killing. Yang lies to Wang Bun about who caused Miyan's death, and Yeowun later tells Gam Rosu that the Blue Sky Brotherhood was responsible. Her body is carried toward the cult in a coffin with a promised funeral, while the surviving baby gives Rosu a reason to endure the loss. (Chapters 313–336)

Appearance and personality

Miyan is muscular, has a distinctive dot on her nose, and closely resembles her grandmother. The family develops its physique as part of hands-on medical training. She is perceptive enough to identify why the cult needs her and uncompromising once she believes it destroyed her new family.

Her conduct mixes coercion and agency. The baby's use as a hostage forces immediate compliance, but the chapters separately state that she had grown close to the pirates and willingly helped their trap. Her grief and refusal to return are therefore treated as genuine even though they arose after an abduction.

Martial arts and abilities

Medical Training and Yang-Replenishing Medicine

Miyan studies medicine under Gam Rosu and produces doses that temporarily replenish the yang qi missing from Wang Yogun's Cold Blood Blockage. The treatment extends Yogun's life and suppresses eruptions for a time, allowing Wang Bun to manage a disease other doctors cannot even identify. (Chapters 316, 318–320)

Miyan explicitly warns that the medicine is not a cure. As the yin imbalance worsens, each dose lasts for a shorter interval and cannot stop the final outbreak. Her work demonstrates real diagnostic and pharmaceutical skill below Rosu's level, with a clear palliative limit. (Chapters 316–320)

Physical Conditioning and Limited Combat

Like other members of Rosu's family, Miyan trains her muscles to support treatment work. She carries a dagger during the pirate trap and is physically capable after a year of captivity. (Chapters 303–304)
