Chun Muyun is the Wise Clan prince groomed by his mother to inherit the cult, whose indirect campaign against Yeowun leaves him mutilated and ultimately dead in the Poison Clan conflict.

Biography

Origins and Academy Entry

Muyun enters the academy as a Wise Clan prince with resources, followers, and an expectation that succession will eventually favor him. He demonstrates real command ability during formation exercises, calling a precisely timed change that surprises Lee Hameng. Yet his power is embedded in a family network rather than tested alone, and his apparent indifference to Chun Yeowun's rise lets his mother and retainers manage the rivalry for him. Academy Tests and Rivalry

By the later tests, Wise Clan followers block Yeowun's path in an armed ambush. Lady Mu's larger plan is to kill Yeowun, absorb surviving servants, and clear the route for her son's advancement. Six Swords and the Academy Trials

Yeowun's counterattack captures Muyun and brings him before his mother with both hands severed and one eye removed. The confident prince apologizes while Lady Mu kneels and begs the rival she hates to spare her sons and warriors. Her telepathic message tells Muyun to remember the humiliation and wait for his uncle's return. He suppresses his protest, but his private response is renewed intent to kill Yeowun rather than a reassessment of the strategy that destroyed him. (Chapters 162–166)

Return to the Demonic Cult

Reports later accuse Muyun and Mu Jinyun of killing Baek Churku, igniting conflict with the Poison Clan. Muyun escapes academy confinement but is found dead at the Poison Clan mansion, while Lady Mu also dies in the collapsing struggle. The corpus reports the body and accusation without giving Muyun a final personal fight, so the exact mechanics of his death cannot be reconstructed.
