Trixie

Trixie is a five-star Altered Hunter who helps lead the operation against Ruin City's Ironfangs. Although introduced as someone with an unusually deep hatred of Altereds, she repeatedly chooses the survival of her people over reflexive violence when the mission reveals enemies and allies outside the Hunters' understanding.

Biography

Suspicion and survival in Ruin City

Trixie joins Saiber's expedition as one of its senior hunters and is considered especially dangerous to the disguised Howlers because the reason for her hatred of Altereds is more than ideological, though the corpus never supplies that reason. When Kim exposes Kai, Trixie stops the hunters from turning on one another without evidence and silently warns Kai to run. She then keeps the shaken force focused on its mission. After learning that Kim is a Wight, Trixie still fights beside her against an immediate Ironfang threat, judging the battlefield before the old category of “monster.” (Chapters 1210, 1243, 1254, and 1268)

Kai's return saves Trixie and the surviving hunters, but his killing of Kim and revelation as a werewolf force her to confront how little the Hunters knew about the conflict they entered. Trixie helps account for the dead, confirms Kim's betrayal when the survivors challenge their leaders, and lives through Edvard's dissolution of the organization. She is among the remaining hunters offered refuge in Slough; her position after that offer is not shown. (Chapters 1270–1273 and 1321–1322)

Appearance and personality

Trixie's physical appearance is not described in detail. She is cautious, authoritative, and capable of revising her judgment under pressure. Her hatred of Altereds is explicit, but so are her discipline and willingness to protect former targets when their actions contradict her expectations. (Chapters 1210, 1243, and 1254)

Powers and abilities

Trixie is not shown to be an Altered or to possess an innate supernatural power. Her five-star rank reflects extensive combat and field-command experience. She reacts quickly enough to pin a flying length of heavy chain beneath her foot and fights with a needle-shaped beast weapon whose thrust carries enough force to redirect Broodie's shield attack. The weapon can pierce him, but its individual wounds are shallow, requiring tactics and an ally against an Ironfang-level werewolf. (Chapters 1212, 1268, and 1272)

Relationships

• Kai: Trixie warns Kai away when Kim frames him, then reassesses him after he returns to save the hunters and exposes the wider werewolf conflict.
• Kim: Trixie initially trusts Kim as a fellow senior hunter, fights beside her after learning she is a Wight, and becomes a witness to Kim's betrayal and death.
• Saiber: Trixie and Saiber are the five-star field authorities directing the Ruin City expedition.
