Kim

Kim Cha is a Wight serving as a vampire knight of the Second Family. Disguised within the Altered Hunters, she escorts the Howlers into Ruin City but turns the hunters against Kai, allowing a longstanding hostility toward werewolves to fracture the alliance she was meant to support.

Biography

An alliance undermined from within

Kim accompanies Blackjack as a supposed hunter mentor and helps the disguised Howlers join Saiber's expedition. Her hostility toward Kai predates any revealed betrayal: she arranges to observe him closely, then uses his exceptional ability and poor equipment to accuse him of being an infiltrator. Trixie's warning allows Kai to escape. Kim continues fighting the Ironfangs and reveals her Wight nature when wounds that should disable a human fail to slow her, but she offers no explanation for attacking an ally whose group was secretly supporting the same mission. (Chapters 1207–1210, 1243, and 1268–1269)

After Kai returns and saves the surviving hunters, he confronts Kim over the setup. She invokes the vampire–Howlers alliance as protection, then bolts toward corpses that could fuel her regeneration; Kai destroys her head before she reaches them. Edvard later suggests that an old grievance against werewolves may have driven her betrayal, but admits he does not know her actual thoughts, leaving the motive unconfirmed. Appearance and personality

Kim is a pale woman with slightly sunken cheeks and a scent distinct from ordinary vampires. She is blunt, suspicious, and openly disgusted by Kai. Her willingness to keep fighting through severe injury makes her formidable, while her effort to weaponize the hunters' prejudice exposes how completely her own grudge overrides the alliance. Powers and abilities

As a Wight, Kim possesses immense strength, does not tire normally, feels little or no pain from serious wounds, and can remain functional after impalement and accumulated injury. Wights can regenerate if they consume human flesh, making nearby bodies a potential source of recovery. Their critical limitation is the head: Kai's strike through Kim's skull kills her before regeneration can begin. (Chapters 1207, 1268–1269, and 1272–1273)

Kim is also trained as a vampire knight and fights at close range with enough strength to block Austin's strike and trade blows with an Ironfang. Her durability does not prevent wounds from accumulating and slowing her, and she struggles against an Ironfang leader even with Trixie's support. (Chapters 1207 and 1268–1269)

Relationships

• Kai: Kim tries to expose and eliminate Kai despite their groups' alliance; he later kills her for betraying the Howlers.
• Trixie: Kim serves beside Trixie among the hunters, but Trixie questions her accusation and ultimately witnesses the consequences of her betrayal.
• Blackjack: Blackjack is Kim's fellow vampire knight and partner in escorting the Howlers to the hunter expedition.
