Stanley

Stanley is Harvor's right-hand man, one of the strongest Zodiacs, and the strategist behind much of the One Gang's operation. A childhood act of protection begins a friendship in which Stanley restores Harvor's stolen position and then chooses to serve the champion he helped create. His absolute faith survives even his fatal defeat.

Biography

Building Harvor's power

Stanley and Harvor know each other from an affluent Tier-1 school. Stanley excels academically but struggles socially; Harvor is charismatic and athletic until his parents die and relatives strip away his inheritance. When Harvor protects Stanley from attackers despite his own fall in status, Stanley repays him by securing tuition support through his family and using his intelligence to recover what Harvor's relatives took. Their partnership predates both the AFC and their transformations, and it establishes a reciprocal loyalty beneath Stanley's later language of service. Their eventual forms—a Wyvern and a Dragon—reinforce Stanley's belief that Harvor should stand above everyone else. (Chapters 979 and 1117)

As the One Gang's operational mind, Stanley manages intelligence, security, medical monitoring, and hidden infrastructure around Harvor's matches. He uncovers Jayden and Xin Clove's sibling relationship, watches the Bloodspire's VIPs through surveillance, searches NIRV records for unidentified powers, and helps conceal Rumper Karn beneath the arena. These actions allow Harvor to focus on training and public authority while Stanley handles risks out of sight. His competence also makes him a priority target once the Howlers and White Rose move against the One Gang. (Chapters 986–1019 and 1130)

Death at Bloodspire

During the stadium conflict, Stanley protects the route to Harvor and prioritizes whatever threat appears most likely to reach his leader. Daphne exploits that calculation by controlling One Gang Altereds and sending them at him while Dean attacks with a Hunter sword. Stanley's wings, ice projectiles, and physical strength let him kill or throw aside multiple attackers, but the pressure divides his attention. Daphne strikes him, controlled Altereds stab his sides, and Dean cuts deeply through his back. Dying on his knees, Stanley still predicts that Harvor and the dragons will rule; his death instead triggers Harvor's uncontrolled full transformation. Kai later consumes Stanley's body and attributes a lasting increase in ordinary speed and strength to the meal. (Chapters 1109–1117, 1136, 1183, and 1201)

Appearance and personality

Stanley is an athletic man who wears square black-framed glasses and the One Gang's purple-and-white tracksuit. He is analytical, controlled, and socially reserved, but his reserve contains intense devotion. He interprets Harvor's success as a shared destiny, treats opposition as a problem to be optimized away, and dies smiling because he believes his leader will still win. (Chapters 979–992 and 1115–1117)

Powers and abilities

Wyvern Altered form

Stanley's manufactured Altered form is identified as a Wyvern, although the serum's acquisition and underlying beast are not described beyond that name. It creates pale-blue wings that permit flight and can be folded into a durable guard. He launches numerous ice spikes from the spread wings; the projectiles pierce flesh and freeze the struck area, slowing targets even when they remain mobile. The wings can also block a beam from Dean's sword, though sustained combined pressure eventually overwhelms his defense. (Chapters 1056, 1109–1115, and 1117)

Transformation also grants strength, speed, durability, and cutting power sufficient to bisect an Altered with an arm strike, throw another by the neck, and continue fighting after heavy impacts. He commonly uses a sword alongside these traits, but the weapon has no finalized inventory entry and its special mechanics are not established. His limitations are clearest under saturation: he can rapidly eliminate individual attackers, but controlled Altereds that ignore pain keep closing while ranged and melee opponents strike from different angles. No evolved form is shown before his death. (Chapters 1056 and 1114–1116)

Intelligence and operational command

Stanley's academic ability develops into surveillance, research, logistics, and strategic planning. He accesses NIRV data, runs Bloodspire security, investigates Harvor's opponents, and designs concealed arrangements beneath the stadium. Daphne calls him the brains behind the One Gang, making his organizational value at least as important as his combat rank. (Chapters 986–1019, 1115, and 1130)

Relationships

  • Harvor: Harvor first protects Stanley; Stanley then restores Harvor's education and inheritance and devotes his life to building the champion's power. Harvor regards him as his only true friend, and Stanley's death breaks his restraint. (Chapters 979 and 1117)
  • Daphne and Dean: They identify Stanley as the chief obstacle to reaching Harvor. Daphne uses controlled Altereds to exhaust his decision-making and defenses while Dean delivers the fatal sword wound. (Chapters 1109–1116)
  • Kai: Kai does not defeat Stanley directly, but consumes his body after the battle and gains a substantial physical increase from it. (Chapters 1136, 1183, and 1201)

Items

Stanley has no finalized configured inventory item. He wields a sword in combat, but the corpus does not configure it as a distinct named personal item.
