Zinon

Zinon is the leader of the later-era Graylash faction. Charged with protecting a people living alongside vampires, he cautiously helps Quinn investigate the lost history of the Cursed faction and later defends the Graylash city from Hinto. The battle costs him both arms; he survives with bionic replacements and continues providing shelter, intelligence, and political leadership despite his declining health. (Chapters 1589–1595, 1893–1915, and 2363)

Biography

Receiving Quinn's group

Zinon agrees to meet Lucia's guests because their claims touch the Cursed faction and the old war. When Quinn grabs him, Zinon recognises the danger but continues asking careful questions: as Graylash leader, he needs proof before sharing information that could endanger his people. Quinn's identity and knowledge convince him to cooperate. Zinon explains the Graylash record of the postwar period, asks Quinn to let Lucia accompany the search, and supplies the group with money and a combat ship. (Chapters 1589–1595)

Zinon also transfers to Quinn a demon-tier adaptive armour that had originally come from the Cursed faction. The armour's provenance helps later observers trust Quinn, but it is equipment on loan or transfer, not Zinon's innate power and not a configured inventory item for this article. His support reflects a calculated decision that Quinn can recover truths the isolated Graylash faction cannot. (Chapters 1591, 1605, and 1648)

Defending the Graylash city from Hinto

When Chris, Peter, and Laxmus arrive seeking answers about Owen, Zinon receives them as the current leader. Hinto's attack turns the meeting into a city defence. Zinon raises a broad lightning barrier and supplies rapid ranged attacks while stronger close-range fighters engage, but Hinto's black flames and reactions neutralise much of the lightning. Zinon's support cannot decide the fight by itself. (Chapters 1893–1911)

Zinon ultimately drives his lightning soul weapon through Hinto even as black fire spreads onto his arms. He orders Lucia to amputate before the flames consume more of him, permanently losing both arms to stop the attack's consequence. After receiving ordinary bionic replacements, he offers the visitors shelter and assistance rather than withdrawing from leadership. (Chapters 1912–1915)

A weakened but active leader

Zinon continues maintaining the Graylash worlds as a place where humans and vampires can live without renewed war. By Chapter 2363 he is physically weakened and confined to bed, yet remains an information source: he directs vampire visitors toward Chris and warns that Chris may feel used. The chapter confirms Zinon is alive, but neither identifies the cause of his decline nor establishes his fate after the final campaign. (Chapters 1915 and 2363)

Appearance and personality

The corpus gives no stable early description of Zinon's face, hair, height, or clothing. After the Hinto battle, his defining physical change is the loss of both arms and their replacement with standard bionic limbs; by his last appearance he is weak enough to remain in bed. Zinon is cautious, observant, and protective of institutional trust. He can negotiate after being threatened, shares resources once convinced, and accepts permanent injury to defend his city. (Chapters 1591–1595, 1912–1915, and 2363)

Powers and abilities

Graylash lightning

Zinon manipulates lightning on a city-defence scale. He creates a large barrier, fires fast bolts, coats or propels his body as lightning for rapid movement, and channels power into close strikes. The attacks provide strong area defence and support, but Hinto can block or consume them with his sword and black flames, showing that their speed and output do not bypass every superior opponent. (Chapters 1907–1912)

Lightning-bolt soul weapon

Zinon's solid lightning-bolt soul weapon can pierce a target and impose a severe weakening effect, described around half the victim's movement and strength. The debuff has biological limits: it does not work normally on Peter's undead body, while Hinto's resistance and black fire force Zinon into a sacrificial close-range use. Zinon succeeds in striking Hinto but cannot prevent the flames from taking his arms. (Chapters 1908–1913)

Leadership and later limitations

Zinon studies the old factions, evaluates uncertain allies, trains or supports Graylash lightning users, and provides ships, money, shelter, and coordinates. These resources make him an effective coalition leader, but the bionic arms are described as ordinary replacements rather than restorations of his former combat condition. His later weakness is explicit, while its medical or supernatural cause remains unknown. (Chapters 1591–1595, 1740, 1893–1915, and 2363)

Relationships

  • Quinn: Zinon initially interrogates Quinn's claims, then trusts him with history, resources, and inherited Cursed equipment. Their cooperation is based on shared concern for their factions rather than immediate familiarity. (Chapters 1591–1595)
  • Lucia: Zinon trusts Lucia to accompany Quinn and later relies on her to remove his burning arms before Hinto's flames spread. (Chapters 1595 and 1912–1913)
  • Chris: Zinon receives Chris during the search for Owen, helps fight Hinto, and later directs others to him while warning about Chris's state of mind. (Chapters 1893–1915 and 2363)
