Lucia

Lucia is a member of the Graylash group who joins Quinn's party shortly after his return from a thousand-year sleep. Her lightning ability, Qi training, and later Celestial Blood Amulet make her a capable ranged supporter, while her bond with Peter grows from guarded cooperation into a shared home and family. (Chapters 1578, 1596, 1622, 1712, 1911–1916, and 2542)

Biography

A reluctant travelling companion

Lucia meets the disguised Quinn, Peter, and Jessica while forming a team for a traveller examination. She recognises that anti-vampire prejudice could cause the examiners to fail a mixed group and initially prioritises her own result, but Quinn's knowledge of Graylash clothing and offer of a king-tier dagger persuade her to take the risk. She introduces herself as Lucia Song, supplies the newly awakened group with information about the Graylash planets, and grows curious about why “Nate” knows an era he should not have witnessed. (Chapters 1578–1596)

Her caution becomes commitment as the group is drawn into Red Vampire and military conflict. Lucia fights beside Jessica from a distance, protects struggling vampires with lightning, and tries to defend Minny when Derik attacks them after Quinn and Peter leave. Exhausted and injured, she cannot overpower the Red Vampires, but she still uses the group's earlier game of tag to prompt Minny to evade capture. These choices establish her as more than a hired examination partner: she continues with the group after learning how dangerous their hidden identities are. (Chapters 1622, 1638, and 1650–1698)

The Celestial Blood Amulet

Quinn later marks a demon-tier amulet with celestial energy and gives it to Lucia in gratitude to her ancestor Robin Graylash. He intends the gift to reduce her dependence on stronger companions. The amulet lets her collect energy from blood spilled nearby, add blood energy to her existing lightning, and create a blood clone whose endurance depends on the stored reserve. Lucia gathers and uses that energy during the tournament and subsequent fighting, but she initially senses more stored power than she knows how to release. (Chapters 1712–1744 and 1912)

The amulet's deeper response emerges during Hinto's attack. After Peter loses his limbs protecting the population, Lucia rejects his order to stay back, fires red lightning with the other defenders, and confesses that she loves him. The amulet then transfers its accumulated blood energy into Peter, forming temporary solid blood limbs and giving him another chance to fight. Lucia does not knowingly trigger a documented command; the corpus presents the activation as unprecedented and leaves its exact emotional or celestial condition unresolved. (Chapters 1911–1912)

Peter and the final peace

Lucia's feelings for Peter develop while he repeatedly protects her and she learns to interpret his unusual loyalty. At their first farewell, Peter tells her that Quinn has long been the person he thinks about most, leading Lucia to believe her feelings are not returned. Peter privately clarifies that there are now two people in his mind, but fails to say so before she leaves, postponing rather than ending their relationship. (Chapters 1604, 1780, and 1911–1916)

The two meet again after the final conflicts and after Peter returns to being human. Peter then recognises his feelings, seeks Lucia out, and tells her what he had failed to explain. In her latest appearance they share a newly acquired home, and Lucia is pregnant with their child. This establishes that she survives the wars; the final domestic scene does not demonstrate whether any of her former combat powers or the amulet still function after the wider loss of supernatural powers. (Chapter 2542)

Appearance and personality

Lucia is introduced as a brunette with blonde highlights and green eyes, wearing the Graylash family's traditional white robes and carrying a spear on her back. She usually fights through that spear, whose glow shifts with the lightning or blood energy she channels through it. (Chapters 1578 and 1622–1638)

She is serious, practical, and initially unwilling to sacrifice her prospects for strangers, yet she is also honest about that calculation. Once committed, Lucia is protective of Jessica, Minny, and Peter, and she repeatedly acts despite fear or exhaustion. Her questions about unfamiliar powers show sound judgment rather than credulity, while her willingness to state her feelings during a seemingly hopeless battle contrasts with Peter's difficulty understanding or expressing his own. (Chapters 1578, 1604, 1638, 1678, and 1911–1916)

Powers and abilities

Graylash lightning

As a member of the Graylash group, Lucia uses a lightning ability principally through her spear. She can thrust the weapon to fire blue bolts over distance, spread lightning around the spear, and cut through a blood-aura slash with a charged strike. This makes her most effective as support behind a front line, where she can interrupt attackers without exposing herself to close combat. (Chapters 1622, 1638, and 1678)

The ability consumes MC cells and weakens visibly with repeated use. After extended fighting, the spear's light dims until Lucia cannot stop another comparable attack, and physical injury further limits her. The corpus does not give her ability level, maximum range, or a later postwar test. Red lightning shown after she receives the amulet is the interaction of her original power with stored blood energy, not a separately inherited Graylash technique. (Chapters 1638, 1712, and 1911–1912)

Qi

Lucia is trained in the modern understanding of Qi and maintains second-stage Qi as a protective wall around her brain, countering vampire influence. She can also reinforce herself or her weapon when blocking physical attacks, and she understands the five-stage classification used in her era well enough to explain it to Quinn. The corpus demonstrates her knowledge and second-stage control but does not establish that she personally commands the third, fourth, or fifth stages. (Chapters 1596 and 1604)

Her Qi reserve is finite. When injured by Derik, she directs what remains toward preventing broken ribs and organ damage from becoming fatal rather than continuing to attack. This illustrates both the defensive flexibility and the cost of dividing a limited reserve between mental protection, bodily reinforcement, and combat. (Chapter 1638)

Celestial Blood Amulet interaction

Lucia can use the Blood Amulet to draw energy from blood spilled within fifty metres. The stored energy can empower her existing lightning with blood aura or create a blood clone that heals by consuming the same reserve and lasts only while energy remains. More spilled blood and longer collection increase the reserve, so the item is strongest in a prolonged, bloody battle and offers much less without fuel. (Chapters 1712 and 1912)

At Hinto's battle, the amulet empties accumulated power into Peter and creates solid blood replacements for his missing limbs. The markings on Peter and the amulet respond together, indicating interaction with Quinn's celestial mark, but the text does not define a repeatable activation method. This feat therefore represents the amulet's highest observed output, not an ability Lucia can be assumed to reproduce on demand. (Chapters 1911–1912)

Relationships

  • Peter: Peter repeatedly protects Lucia, while Lucia refuses to abandon him and uses the amulet's reserve to restore his ability to fight. Their mutual but poorly communicated attachment becomes a partnership after Peter returns to human life.
  • Quinn: Quinn recruits Lucia while disguised, values her connection to Robin Graylash, and gives her the Blood Amulet. She helps orient him to the world that formed during his absence.
  • Jessica: Lucia and Jessica become close travelling companions and ranged supporters. They jointly protect Minny and remain among the few members of Quinn's returning party who understand one another's new era.
  • Minny: Lucia acts as one of Minny's protective “aunties,” supporting her in battle and trying to keep her out of the Red Vampires' custody.
  • Zinon: Lucia serves the Graylash group led by Zinon and fights beside him during Hinto's attack.

Items

  • Blood Amulet: Quinn marks this demon-tier Graylash heirloom with celestial energy and gives it to Lucia. It stores energy from nearby spilled blood, empowers her lightning, creates a blood clone, and once transfers its accumulated reserve to Peter. (Chapters 1712 and 1911–1912)
