Sach
Sach is an Earthborn Head General who becomes Supreme Commander during the Dalki war. A master of Muay Baron and several other fighting styles, he secretly taught Quinn through a virtual-game persona, later accepts Quinn's blood ritual to recover from catastrophic injuries, and dies saving Samantha from One Horn. (Chapters 956–998, 1135–1136, 1181, and 1510–1511)
Biography
Rivalry and the martial-arts teacher's identity
Sach initially joins Head General Innu in treating the Cursed faction with hostility, and he enters the inter-base event expecting to expose “Hardy.” Quinn defeats him with a single thigh kick, but the loss changes Sach's judgment rather than deepening the feud. He apologises, refuses to participate in Innu's further schemes, and later insists that Quinn deserves credit for the people he has saved and the strength he built. (Chapters 956–998 and 1031)
The encounter also reveals that Sach is the “Martial Arts God” who taught Quinn in the virtual game. Sach's game character—the green-haired figure with a split tongue—is a role-play avatar, not a description of Sach's physical body. Outside the game, Sach knows several fighting styles and conceals Muay Baron because many of its techniques are designed to kill; Quinn's use of those lessons makes Sach regard him as the person who can advance the art further. (Chapter 998)
Shattered by One Horn and reborn as a vampire
While leading an Earthborn operation with Samantha, Sach charges the newly evolved One Horn because his nearly invincible body requires close-range combat. His knee and kicks fail to injure the five-spike Dalki, but his reinforced body survives being repeatedly slammed into the ground, allowing him to order Samantha to escape and keep fighting longer than an ordinary human could. One Horn eventually shatters virtually every bone in Sach's body. (Chapters 1121–1122 and 1135)
Sach's own ability prevents doctors, technology, and healing powers from setting the damage right. Faced with permanent immobility, he asks Quinn to turn him and accepts the risks: an uncertain vampire form, loss of his original ability, bloodlust, sunlight, and a turner's bond that makes Quinn's commands nearly impossible to resist. His stated pressure is practical as well as personal—he cannot help anyone while paralysed, and vampire senses might expose traitors within Earthborn. (Chapters 1135–1136)
The blood ritual produces a full vampire rather than a subclass, but transformation alone does not instantly mend him. Sach must drink blood before the recovery begins, then remains on the Cursed ship to learn control and the measures needed to operate in sunlight. His original body ability disappears during the turning; later combat confirms that he manages to use that ability again, but the corpus does not describe how or when he relearns it. (Chapters 1136, 1142, and 1431)
Supreme Commander of Earthborn
After Oscar's apparent death and Innu's removal, Samantha refuses her own candidacy and nominates Sach. She remembers that, despite his earlier overconfidence, he rushed into danger and stayed to help. The military vote makes him Supreme Commander while most of Earthborn remains unaware that its new leader is a vampire and a member of Quinn's turned family. (Chapter 1181)
Sach responds by directing planetary defence, evaluating Dalki movements, and ordering targeted missions rather than retreating into ceremony. He identifies an infiltrator around Samantha, supports her through grief, coordinates the liberation of prisoners when One Horn is away, and keeps allied commanders informed of changing fronts. His leadership preserves Oscar's duty to Earthborn while also bringing the group into closer practical cooperation with the Cursed faction. (Chapters 1200, 1249, and 1272)
At the interspecies training event, Sach keeps his blood powers hidden and defeats the vampire leader Jake Muscat with physical strength, his body ability, martial arts, and reinforced leg armour. Seeing an undead form of Oscar later disturbs him, but he interprets Oscar's continued participation as a demand that he also keep fighting. (Chapters 1431 and 1450)
Final stand against One Horn
Sach eventually returns to the enemy who shattered him. When One Horn's foot comes down on Samantha, Sach places himself underneath it and uses blood hardening, his vampire body, and his body-strengthening ability to hold the enormous Dalki up. He orders Samantha to move as Supreme Commander, maintaining the defence through willpower until she is clear. Once she is safe, the pressure crushes his bones and flattens his body. (Chapters 1508–1510)
His remains are unrecognisable, but the survivors recover them with the intention of giving the Supreme Commander a proper burial. Samantha's group succeeds in killing One Horn, and her grief at Sach's sacrifice contributes to her assumption of Earthborn's leadership. The corpus explicitly treats Sach as dead thereafter. (Chapters 1510–1511 and 1533)
Appearance and personality
The supplied text calls Sach frightening or scary-looking but does not give a stable ordinary description of his hair, eyes, height, or facial features. His green hair and split tongue belong only to his Martial Arts God game avatar. In combat he is repeatedly distinguished by heavy leg gear, first bone-like boots and later thick silver-and-blue armour covering his legs. (Chapters 997–998 and 1431)
Sach is proud of his martial skill and initially susceptible to institutional rivalry, yet he can revise his judgment after a decisive failure. He values strength because it lets him protect and teach, not simply dominate: paralysis is intolerable to him chiefly because it prevents him from helping others. His pain tolerance during the blood ritual and his final choice under One Horn's foot show an exceptional will that outlasts his physical defences. (Chapters 998, 1135–1136, and 1510)
Powers and abilities
Body-strengthening ability
Sach's original ability reinforces his body, giving him exceptional durability and increasing the force he can apply through close-range martial arts. Before One Horn, Sach says he had never broken a bone; he also walks away from a hit strong enough to crack emperor-tier chest armour. The defence is not absolute: One Horn can shatter him, and the same unusual reinforcement interferes with conventional healing once that damage occurs. (Chapters 998, 1122, and 1135)
Turning into a vampire initially removes the ability. By the later training event, Vincent explicitly identifies Sach's ability as strengthening his kicks, so Sach has recovered or relearned it by then. Its post-transformation ceiling is not measured, and even its combination with vampire durability and blood hardening cannot indefinitely resist One Horn's transformed strength. (Chapters 1136, 1431, and 1510)
Vampire traits and blood powers
Quinn's blood ritual restores Sach as a full vampire after he drinks blood. It gives him enhanced physical capabilities, smell, blood powers, and recovery, while imposing bloodlust, sunlight vulnerability, and the turner's bond to Quinn. Sach normally hides those traits from Earthborn and even avoids blood powers during a public training match; his latest demonstrated application is blood hardening over his arms during the defence of Samantha. (Chapters 1136–1142, 1431, and 1510)
His regeneration has limits. The turn requires blood before it repairs his original injuries, and sufficiently overwhelming force still kills him. The corpus does not identify a vampire evolution beyond his initial form or a personal soul weapon. (Chapters 1136 and 1510–1511)
Martial arts and equipment-supported combat
Sach is proficient in Muay Baron and several other styles, with a special emphasis on thigh kicks, knees, and rapid combinations. He withholds Muay Baron's lethal techniques in ordinary matches, but his teaching gives Quinn a foundation that remains useful against stronger opponents. His beast gear amplifies these techniques: strength-focused equipment supports him against One Horn, and later silver-and-blue leg armour makes his kicks powerful enough to break a vampire leader's leg and end the match with a head strike. (Chapters 998, 1122, and 1431)
Relationships
- Quinn: Sach secretly teaches Quinn through a virtual persona, then recognises him as the martial artist who can carry the discipline forward. Quinn later turns and heals him, creating a supernatural bond Sach knowingly accepts.
- Samantha: Samantha nominates Sach as Supreme Commander and serves with him through the war. Sach ultimately sacrifices himself to move her out from beneath One Horn's foot.
- Oscar: Sach serves under Oscar and takes his office after Oscar's apparent death. Encountering Oscar's undead body reinforces Sach's commitment to continue the war.
- Nathan: Nathan helps receive Quinn at Earthborn's medical facility and later carries out operations ordered by Sach.
- One Horn: The Dalki first destroys Sach's human body, forcing his transformation, and later kills him despite his combined vampire and ability-based defences.
Items
No manifest-configured inventory item is assigned to Sach. His bone-like boots and later silver-and-blue leg armour are unnamed beast gear rather than catalogued items. (Chapters 997 and 1431)
