Megan

Megan is a senior Crow who becomes one of the Cursed faction's recurring leaders and administrators. An emperor-tier expedition and Mitchell's death leave her afraid of frontline combat, but she continues protecting the faction through squad leadership, crisis response, and command of its ship. Biography

Crow leadership and the emperor-tier loss

Megan is one of the Crows' Rank-B warriors and participates in decisions about expedition teams. She favours the experienced Kong over the newly arrived Sam, arguing that a leader needs the established members' respect. She then joins the high-ranking team sent after an emperor-tier beast, treating faction seniority as both a privilege and an obligation. (Chapters 567–568)

The expedition kills Mitchell and nearly destroys the group. Megan rejects Blip's immediate proposal to confront another emperor-tier beast, breaking down over the casualties and the outside pressure that has changed the Crows. She blames the Graylash family's demands for Mitchell's death, and that trauma later explains why she retreats from dangerous fieldwork rather than evidence of cowardice without cause. Defending the faction

When the Crows prepare for a Sunshield attack, Megan quietly informs members, contributes to strategy, and leads one of six combat squads. She argues that water users should counter the enemy's fire directly, but accepts Sam's plan to reserve them for protecting the shelter. In battle she prioritises helping ordinary Crow members and asks about retreat only when the central force is being overwhelmed. (Chapters 592 and 603–607)

After the Crows become part of the Cursed faction, Megan remains a trusted leader. She encourages Linda to reconnect with members, joins public faction events, and works with Sam to investigate a possible contagious illness when Dennis is hospitalised. Her nail-biting and visible worry show that fear remains present even while she keeps working. (Chapters 676, 688, 692, and 695)

From fighter to administrator

Megan increasingly supports Sam from the command centre. Prolonged work leaves her exhausted, yet she thanks Helen for assisting and becomes one of the leaders who most consistently helps manage the faction. This shift is tied directly to Mitchell's death: when brought near another major beast battle, she admits she has not progressed like the other leaders and still sees herself as an ordinary human. She still enters danger when needed, arriving with Dennis and Sam during the fight against Burnie and later remaining among the faction members identified as strong enough to help against major threats. Before the final action against Graham, Sam names Megan as the person who will inherit responsibility for the Cursed faction if he does not return; she is alive at this latest mention, but the corpus does not show her response or later life. Appearance and personality

Megan has long, curly light-brown hair that she finds difficult to maintain. She initially carries two small axes on her back. Under prolonged command pressure her hair becomes frazzled and heavy bags form beneath her eyes; no height, eye colour, or later-era description is supplied. (Chapters 567 and 946)

She is practical, direct, and protective of lower-ranked members. Megan can be pessimistic when casualties make victory appear impossible, and trauma causes shaking, avoidance, and self-doubt around major beasts. Traveller combat and equipment

Megan is ranked B by the Crows and is trusted to lead a squad of its main fighters. She carries paired axes and has the experience to fight ability users during a shelter-scale battle.
