Ivy

Ivy is one of Helen's sisters and a plant-ability fighter who later shares leadership of their people with Peach. After Helen's death, Ivy joins the final Dalki campaign and voluntarily accepts Layla's Spiritual Link, but a single redirected blow kills her. (Chapters 738–788 and 1402–1539)

Biography

Fighting as one of three sisters

Ivy enters the faction tournament beside Helen and Peach, confident that their earlier rivals should not have advanced so far. The sisters' shared plant ability lets them build a coordinated field: Ivy and Peach spread seeds behind the formation while Helen controls the front, and Ivy's thorns compound their damage once one projectile draws blood. (Chapters 738 and 742–746)

Against Dennis, Ivy meets his empowered punch without yielding, while against Pure she drives roots through the ground and evades Layla's arrows. Dodging prevents her from maintaining other actions, and Pure's Qi users locate unsprouted seeds and bypass the plant screen. The loss ends the faction's bid for independent powerhouse status. (Chapters 747–751)

Ivy nevertheless joins the coalition's main force and later accepts assignments within the shared shelter. This transition converts her faction rivalry into cooperation against threats that no single group can handle. (Chapters 768–788)

Inheriting Helen's followers

After Helen dies, Ivy and Peach bring her casket to Quinn and are included among the leaders deciding the alliance's response. Their followers trust the sisters more readily than unfamiliar Cursed administrators, so the pair assume Helen's civic role and oversee the shelter when other leaders leave. (Chapters 1402–1416)

The sisters then travel with the final strike force as recognised leaders. Ivy remains grieving but comforts Peach and helps interpret the strength of the humanoid Dalki created from Helen's DNA, drawing on what Helen had told them about Layla's potential. (Chapters 1513, 1533, and 1535)

The Spiritual Link sacrifice

Before Layla fights the five-spike Helen-derived Dalki, Ivy and Peach agree to accept a Spiritual Link that can redirect damage away from Layla. They know they may take injuries but do not expect one hit to be lethal, and Layla intends to heal them afterward. When the Dalki kicks Layla, the redirected force destroys Ivy's stomach and kills her immediately. (Chapter 1535)

Layla cancels the remaining link rather than risk Peach and acknowledges responsibility for the unintended death. Peach later carries Ivy's body to Helen's and lays the sisters together as the group kneels. No resurrection or surviving manifestation of Ivy appears. (Chapters 1535–1539)

Appearance and personality

Ivy is approximately two metres tall and extremely thin, with green hair; her build is compared to a tree. The corpus gives no eye colour, clothing description, or later physical change before her death. (Chapter 738)

She is proud, combative, loyal, and protective of her sisters. Ivy becomes visibly angry at provocation, relishes a successful plant hit, and threatens crude discipline when irritated. After Helen's death, the same intensity supports her willingness to lead and accept personal danger for Layla's chance to defeat the Dalki. (Chapters 738–751, 788, and 1402–1535)

Powers and abilities

Plant ability

Ivy plants seeds and drives roots through the ground to create large plants that fire armour-piercing thorns. Her attacks can wound a target and then make subsequent thorns easier to land. She can also maintain close combat, matching an empowered Dennis punch without being pushed back. (Chapters 746–751)

The sisters fight most effectively as a formation, so the total plant count and every elemental effect cannot be assigned to Ivy alone. Long-range arrows force her to dodge and stop using other skills, while opponents who find seeds before they sprout dismantle the field. (Chapter 751)

Enhancement-type soul weapon

Each sister has an enhancement-type soul weapon that gives summoned plants a special attribute. Ice, fire, and black explosive effects appear across the trio, but the corpus does not identify whether Ivy owns the ice or fire variant; Helen's black effect is the only one explicitly assigned. Ivy's individual soul-weapon mechanics, duration, and cost therefore remain unknown. (Chapters 747–751)

Spiritual Link limit

Ivy voluntarily accepts Layla's Spiritual Link, allowing damage meant for Layla to transfer into her body. This is Layla's Hannya technique rather than Ivy's own power. Ivy has no demonstrated defence capable of surviving the redirected kick from a five-spike Dalki, and the transfer kills her before the planned healing can occur. (Chapter 1535)

Relationships

• Helen: Helen is Ivy's sister, combat leader, and predecessor. Ivy inherits her followers and is ultimately laid beside her after death.
• Peach: Peach is Ivy's sister, fighting partner, and fellow successor. Peach survives the Spiritual Link and carries Ivy's body.
• Layla: Ivy agrees to take redirected damage so Layla can fight the Helen-derived Dalki. Neither anticipates that the first transferred blow will kill her.
• Quinn: Ivy shifts from faction rival to a leader within Quinn's alliance after Helen's death.

Items
