Iree
Iree Johnston is a young former Daisy-faction fighter who remains with the group after its absorption into the Cursed faction. Initially dismissive of her scarlet blood spear, she learns its purpose and volunteers for Quinn's attack on a Dalki mothership. (Chapters 1189–1217)
Biography
Accepting the blood weapon
Iree publicly calls the awarded spear a useless toy because it appears weaker than her king-tier weapon and she resents the crystals spent on it. Quinn demonstrates that Dalki blood activates the weapon and explains that it was designed specifically for the war. The evidence changes Iree's judgment: when the Dalki attack, she rallies others around the new weapons and insists that they still have a chance. (Chapters 1189 and 1203)
Volunteering for the mothership assault
After helping Yag, Iree notices Quinn studying the mothership and offers her group as a diversion so he can steal a craft, even though the others are less prepared to sacrifice themselves. She explains that the Daisy faction raised her and that loyalty to Helen kept her from leaving after the Cursed takeover. Seeing Helen's trust in Quinn, and then Quinn's conduct in battle, leads Iree to believe Helen had judged him correctly. (Chapters 1204–1206)
On the mothership, Iree cuts her palm to power the spear and stands against a two-spike Dalki despite believing it beyond her solo level. Quinn's shadow prevents a killing blow; after surviving until the enemy is distracted, Iree drives the spear through its heart and kills it. She later trusts Quinn to save the falling group and accepts another assignment to protect Alex, remaining calm during a dangerous descent because Quinn is present. Her final appearance places her alive on the volcanic planet; the corpus gives no later fate. (Chapters 1207–1217)
Appearance and personality
Iree is a young woman not much older than Quinn; no stable hair, eye, or clothing description is supplied. She is outspoken and initially skeptical of leadership, but willing to reverse her view when shown evidence. Her loyalty to Helen, readiness to volunteer for a dangerous mission, and persistence against a stronger Dalki show courage alongside her bluntness. (Chapters 1189–1207)
Powers and abilities
Blood-spear combat
Iree uses a scarlet spear forged as a blood weapon. It can be fed by a cut in her palm, gains power when it contacts green Dalki blood, and penetrates a two-spike Dalki's hand and heart. This makes it specialised against Dalki rather than an all-purpose replacement for her previous king-tier spear. The cost is blood: Iree must keep supplying it through her wound, and the weapon does not erase the physical gap between her and a stronger opponent. She estimates that one spike may be within her solo ability but considers two spikes beyond her even with the spear, surviving because Quinn blocks a fatal attack and creates an opening. (Chapters 1189 and 1207)
The corpus does not identify a separate innate ability, vampire transformation, Qi stage, or later improvement for Iree. Her blood spear is associated equipment without a separately configured item article. (Chapters 1189–1217)
