Hinto

Hinto is a Chrono warrior and the brother of Shinto who escapes the red space by agreeing to serve the ancient ones. As a Celestial, he is assigned to hunt God Slayers and attacks Chris on a Graylash world. His sword skill and black flames nearly overwhelm every defender, but the coalition kills him; all later on-page “Hinto” fighters are replicas created by Russ, not the original's survival. Biography

Service after the red space

Hinto becomes infamous among the Chrono for achieving black flames. After suffering continual battles in the red space, he contacts the ancient ones and accepts their service in exchange for being pulled out. The arrangement gives him relief from fighting every moment, but turns that survival bargain into repeated missions against targets the ancient ones designate. He is consequently named among the experienced Celestials selected to eliminate Earth's God Slayers. (Chapters 1888, 1909, and 2469)

Assault on the Graylash world

Hinto descends into Zinon's meeting and announces that he has come to destroy the God Slayer. He concentrates on Chris but treats Peter as the more immediate combat threat once Peter's persistence begins creating openings. Hinto's technical swordsmanship redirects Chris's greater raw power, while his black fire destroys blood aura, lightning, buildings, and living tissue. He expands the attack toward the city after its residents support the defenders, showing that completing the mission outweighs protecting bystanders. (Chapters 1894 and 1907–1912)

The defenders defeat him only through sustained cooperation. Chris supplies speed and power, Peter accepts repeated mutilation to keep attacking, Zinon sacrifices his arms to impose a brief opening, and other residents add ranged pressure. Hinto's body breaks into particles before reaching the ground in Chapter 1913, a clear sign that the original Celestial has died. (Chapters 1911–1913)

Replicas after death

Russ later creates a Hinto construct from his mental image and uses it to manipulate Shinto and fight in the demon realm. The copy reproduces Hinto's twin-sword technique and black flames well enough to convince his brother temporarily, but Russ dismisses and resummons it, and Shinto recognises that it is false. References to Hinto's fire after Chapter 1913 concern this construct, Shinto's related flame, or memory; they do not revise Hinto's death. (Chapters 2397–2416, 2469, and 2519)

Appearance and personality

Hinto is a nonhuman Chrono with trunk-like appendages on his head, a red crystal set between his eyes, and two swords. The supplied chapters do not establish his height, clothing colours, or other stable physical detail. He is calm, highly experienced, and confident that a long record of victories will continue. His bargain with the ancient ones is driven by exhaustion with the red space, while his willingness to kill uninvolved residents shows that survival and obedience have narrowed his concern for others. Powers and abilities

Celestial body and energy

Hinto has the durability, speed, perception, and energy of a veteran fighting Celestial. He withstands coordinated lightning and blood attacks, contests Chris's mountain-breaking strength through technique, and recognises Peter as an unexpected threat outside his target list. He is not invulnerable: Peter can draw blood, Zinon's soul weapon can delay him, and the coalition's accumulated attacks ultimately destroy his body. (Chapters 1907–1913)

Twin-sword mastery

Hinto uses two swords with exceptional timing. Rather than directly matching every stronger blow, he redirects its energy so the attacker feels momentum disperse, predicts angles well enough to cut Chris repeatedly, and dismembers Peter between exchanges. His technique depends on control and reaction; relentless attacks from multiple directions and Zinon's sacrificial restraint create the narrow opportunity that defeats him. Black flames

Hinto coats both swords in black fire, raises defensive flames from the ground, and projects a wall tall enough to cut through buildings. The fire destroys incoming red aura and lightning, remains fixed where it lands until he withdraws it, and consumes living tissue so completely that ordinary regeneration or reattachment may fail. It requires Hinto to draw on his own power, and he sometimes dodges rather than waste energy countering an attack. Later replicas can reproduce the observed flame because Russ constructs what he knows; their output is not evidence that Hinto survived. (Chapters 1908–1913 and 2397–2416)

Relationships

• Shinto: Hinto is Shinto's lost brother. Shinto's hope that he survived becomes a vulnerability Russ exploits with a replica, while accepting the original's death helps Shinto abandon Immortui. (Chapters 2397–2416 and 2469)
• Chris: Hinto is sent to kill Chris as a God Slayer. Chris cannot overcome his sword skill alone, but becomes a central part of the coalition that defeats him. (Chapters 1894 and 1907–1913)
• Peter: Hinto repeatedly dismembers Peter and burns away one regenerative extension. Peter's refusal to stop attacking nevertheless forces Hinto to divide his attention and creates the final opportunity. (Chapters 1908–1913)
