Yi Xing

Yi Xing is an ancient Tai Yan Sect outer disciple who fled into a mortal small world during the great calamity, became Qi's first emperor, and left a tomb whose records and treasures shape Li Fan's later investigations.

Biography

Light Emerging from the Darkness

Denied inner-sect cultivation because of limited aptitude, Yi Xing carried resentment toward the Tai Yan Sect's hierarchy even while undertaking a mission in the Taixuan small world. When the Immortal-Mortal Miasma and technique conflicts spread, he withdrew from the catastrophe into the mortal domain, where separation from the immortal path redirected his ambition into founding the Qi Dynasty. His tomb preserves murals, a Tai Yan Boat, a Heaven Locked Treasure Box, and a Dao Deviation Stone that Li Fan repeatedly exploits. Millennia later, Sun Erlang recovers Yi Xing's remains, and the surviving Tai Yan Sect accepts its lost outer disciple home despite the old grievance. (Chapters 14–15, 113, 213–216, and 1192–1196)

Appearance and personality

Yi Xing is known chiefly through his skeleton, tomb, and other characters' recollections; the corpus does not preserve a reliable living portrait. His history suggests persistence and wounded pride: exclusion from the inner sect embittered him, yet exile did not prevent him from creating a mortal dynasty and carefully securing his inheritance. Tai Yan inheritance

As an outer disciple, Yi Xing understood enough of the Tai Yan Sect's simulation and derivation tradition to leave protected sect resources. His precise realm and personal mastery are not recorded, and later use of the Dao Deviation Stone depends on surviving sect arts rather than on the stone alone. (Chapters 213–215 and 1193–1196)

Relationships

• Sun Erlang retrieves Yi Xing's remains and returns them to the surviving Tai Yan Sect.
• Yi Shu identifies Yi Xing as his clan brother and explains the resentment behind his departure.
• Li Fan repeatedly excavates and studies Yi Xing's tomb but never meets him alive.

Items

• Dao Deviation Stone — Buried in Yi Xing's tomb, repeatedly used by Li Fan, and later returned to the Tai Yan Sect's orbit; it does not remain in Yi Xing's posthumous custody.
