Xiao Lan, also called Zhang Lan, is a member of Sister Mao's review team during its Coffin Village challenge. Her suspicion of Bai Qiulin helps the House's disguised ghosts turn the visitors against one another.

Biography

Disappearance in Coffin Village

Xiao Lan enters the scenario under Sister Mao's plan and is assigned to stay with a visiting couple while the reviewers search separately for the wedding dress. When Huang Xing disappears, she assumes Bai Qiulin is a House employee controlling mechanisms with the hand hidden in his pocket. Discovering that he genuinely lacks that hand convinces her he is a dangerous madman rather than a supernatural ally. She insists on searching a bedroom for Huang Xing despite warnings, where a cold hand reaches from beneath the bed and her phone call collapses into screams. The staged testimony of Ol' Zhou and Duan Yue then uses her disappearance to deepen the remaining visitors' distrust until the group is overwhelmed. (Chapters 347–355)

Appearance and personality

Xiao Lan is an assertive young woman who becomes suspicious quickly and is willing to confront someone she believes is violating the challenge. Her concern for Huang Xing keeps her searching after fear sets in, but certainty about Bai Qiulin makes her easier for the actors to isolate and misdirect. (Chapters 347–355)

Skills and supernatural abilities

Xiao Lan has no supernatural power. Her review experience encourages her to look for actors, mechanisms, and staged explanations, but those assumptions fail when the people around her are actual spirits posing as visitors. (Chapters 347–355)
