Xiang Nuan

Xiang Nuan is a quiet living boy raised by his aunt, Wen Qing, and the final host chosen by the Ghost Fetus. The older entity preserves his life during birth and occupies him, causing memories and control to overlap, but their origins remain distinct: Xiang Nuan is the child Wen Qing protects, while the Ghost Fetus existed earlier as Chen Ge’s separated shadow.

Biography

The silent child of Jin Hwa Apartments

Xiang Nuan grows up at Jin Hwa Apartments under Wen Qing’s care after nearly dying during childbirth. He speaks little, avoids strangers, repeats small arrangements with chopsticks, and suffers violent episodes that doctors interpret through ordinary childhood conditions. Wen Qing refuses to abandon him even when schools will no longer accept him, while the residents’ hostility and targeted death notices make their home increasingly dangerous. (Chapters 1071–1075)

Behind his door, the apartment complex exposes secrets and crimes that no child should carry. Xiang Nuan appears through screens and handwritten warnings, telling Wen Qing’s group to leave while guiding them toward the truth. Those interventions show awareness separate from the wider trap: although the Ghost Fetus shaped the door and its inhabitants, the boy still tries to protect the person he recognizes as family. Host inside the Ghost Fetus’s Past

The Ghost Fetus selected Xiang Nuan because the infant’s weak self-consciousness made possession possible. It saved his failing life and took control at the same time, eventually placing him within the gigantic composite called the Past. This connection lets the older will speak and act through the child, but it does not make the Ghost Fetus’s decades of abuse, escape, and planning into Xiang Nuan’s personal childhood. (Chapters 1093–1101, 1109)

When the Past begins closing its prison around Chen Ge, Zhang Ya, and the Cursed Hospital’s faceless doctor, Xiang Nuan initially appears blank and constrained in its head. Wen Qing’s danger restores focus to his eyes. He struggles against the Past’s assigned purpose, reaches toward her, and redirects the monster even though the Ghost Fetus’s calculated rebirth required swallowing everyone inside the door. Separation and the island in the black fog

The faceless doctor uses Wen Qing as leverage, forcing Xiang Nuan to choose between the rebirth plan and the only family bond available to him. Wen Qing removes herself as a hostage by leaping into the Past. Xiang Nuan then draws the composite’s curses and sin into his own side of the body, leaving its gentler upper portion to preserve her as a whale-like guardian. (Chapters 1107–1108)

The division gives the host and parasite distinct final outcomes. The Ghost Fetus’s consciousness disperses with the accumulated sin, while Xiang Nuan’s body remains fused with the Past’s heavy lower shell as an island-like remnant in the black fog. His awareness fades and he does not return to ordinary life, but he is not carried forward as a new alias or completed incarnation of the Demon God. (Chapters 1108–1112)

Appearance and personality

Xiang Nuan is a young boy with a pale face, few expressions, and eyes that can appear blank when the Ghost Fetus or the Past dominates him. In the living world he sits quietly with simple objects and has difficulty communicating. During the final battle, blood covers him, curse wounds spread across his body, and he is embedded in the immense head of the Past before sinking into its dark shell. (Chapters 1071–1075, 1104–1109)

His silence makes him difficult for strangers to read, while sudden biting, smashing, and self-harm appear frightening without the context of possession and curse. Beneath that behavior, Xiang Nuan is observant and protective of Wen Qing. His warnings inside the door and his final attempt to save her demonstrate attachment and choice at moments when the older will sharing his body expects total control. Host connection and shared control

Xiang Nuan’s body gives the Ghost Fetus a living host and a point of control within the Past. Through that bond, the child appears on screens, leaves warnings, occupies the composite’s head, and can influence where its vast body moves. These effects depend on possession, the door, and the older entity’s structures; they are not demonstrated as permanent techniques Xiang Nuan can freely use on his own. (Chapters 1086–1094, 1101–1108)

The overlap also creates a struggle of will. The Ghost Fetus can suppress Xiang Nuan’s awareness, speak through his mouth, and use his body for rebirth, yet threats to Wen Qing allow the boy’s focus and resistance to return. His decisive action is therefore not mastery over a Demon God system but the ability to redirect a shared body when an emotional bond breaks through the planned control. (Chapters 1104–1108)

Absorbing sin and separating the Past

At the climax, Xiang Nuan draws black blood, curses, painful memories, and accumulated sin into the Past’s lower shell. This divides the composite into a dark, heavy portion joined to him and a softer winged portion carrying Wen Qing. The act is irreversible at the supplied endpoint and consumes his remaining responsive awareness; it functions as sacrifice and separation, not a personal Demon God promotion. (Chapters 1108–1110)
