Wen Qing
Wen Qing is the estate agent and aunt who raises Xiang Nuan. She enters his door-world as a living human, determined to separate the child she loves from the Ghost Fetus that has used him.
Biography
Searching Nightmare Residential Area
Wen Qing accompanies Chen Ge through the lethal apartment complex because leaving Xiang Nuan behind is never acceptable to her. She begins suspicious of Chen's methods but endures the tenants' deceptions, murders, and factional violence while continuing to call for her nephew. Even when Xiang Nuan appears embedded in the monstrous Past, she refuses to reduce him to the parasite's crimes. The faceless doctor curses her to use her life as leverage, so Wen Qing jumps into the Past's mouth rather than let herself become the weapon that forces Xiang Nuan to surrender. (Chapters 1074–1108)
Xiang Nuan responds by taking the accumulated sin and curses into himself while giving Wen Qing the Ghost Fetus's remaining purity. She survives as a colossal whale flying above the island formed from his body, but the power overwhelms her human consciousness and leaves her acting mostly on instinct. Because the Ghost Fetus's door is destroyed, Chen's group must depart through another door and cannot bring either of them back. Wen Qing and Xiang Nuan remain distinct beings, sealed together beyond the door rather than merged into one identity. (Chapters 1108–1112)
Appearance and personality
Wen Qing is an adult woman accustomed to practical work and sustained responsibility. Fear, pain, and uncertainty never erase her maternal loyalty. Her defining courage is not combativeness but the willingness to surrender her own escape rather than let another person control Xiang Nuan through her suffering. (Chapters 1074–1110)
Skills and supernatural abilities
Before the transformation, Wen Qing is a living human with no formal supernatural power. Her knowledge of the apartment residents, housing agency, and Xiang Nuan helps Chen navigate the door-world. After receiving the uncorrupted portion of the Ghost Fetus's power, she becomes a giant whale whose immense body can move above the island; her consciousness is initially too weak to direct that power or communicate.
