Red High Heels

Red High Heels is a sentient female Red Specter and the House of Horrors' foremost curse specialist. Her title refers both to the woman and to the pair of red shoes through which she often manifests. The heels act as her vessel and visible sign when her human-shaped form is withdrawn; they are not a separate woman or an object that defines her personhood.

Biography

Passenger on Route 104

Red High Heels first appears at an empty Route 104 stop, then occupies a seat on the bus even though only the shoes are visible. Other dangerous passengers instinctively avoid her. When Scissors handles the heels, a second set of footsteps follows him, revealing an active intelligence behind the apparently unattended vessel. She leaves the bus inside Li Wan City and independently hunts the child haunting its private hospital. (Chapters 617–641)

Her pursuit leads to the hotel controlled by the gluttonous woman. There, Red High Heels takes human shape as a tall, bandage-wrapped woman and advances through the hotel's blood vessels while most of the enemy's strength is directed at her. She sheds her bandages and releases blood in which every drop carries a curse, burning and weakening the gluttonous woman until Chen Ge and his employees can finish the battle. (Chapters 651–652)

The fight nearly disperses her manifested body, leaving the shoes dull and motionless. Chen Ge recognizes that she absorbed most of the attack and landed the decisive curse, promises to take her somewhere safe, and carries the vessel through the remainder of Li Wan City. Although his early handling of the heels is often reckless, the woman herself chooses whether to appear, pursue a target, cooperate, or withdraw. (Chapters 652–664)

Curse-consuming employee

After Li Wan City, Red High Heels becomes one of the Red Specters who accompanies Chen Ge on dangerous investigations. At the futuristic theme park, he places her vessel inside a curse-filled altar because her specialty can oppose the presence within it. She suppresses the altar's curse while Xu Yin pursues its Red Specter, demonstrating a partnership in which her control of malign patterns complements his direct combat strength. (Chapters 950–968)

She continues to consume and neutralize curses during the investigations surrounding the Ghost Fetus. Curse threads become nourishment, weapons, and protective restraints rather than merely injuries inflicted on her. Her work supports other employees across successive missions, and her ability to preserve or cleanse them gives her a role beyond attack. The once-silent passenger becomes a trusted specialist repeatedly brought into situations where ordinary Red Specters cannot safely touch the residue. (Chapters 974–1075)

At the end of the Ghost Fetus battle, Red High Heels and Xiao Bu guard Chen against the faceless doctor, stopping several attempts by the Demon God to seize him. She then consumes the curses left on the island and becomes more frightening than Xiao Bu even while restraining her presence. When Chen returns through the door with nine curses lodged in his body, she materializes immediately and painstakingly removes them. (Chapters 1109–1110)

Cursed Lady regains herself

The false Xin Hai strips away much of Red High Heels' memory and power, leaving her known as the Cursed Lady in an abandoned version of the Third Sick Hall. Human names cover her red clothing, black and red bandages wrap her pale skin, and curses fill the building. She rejects the imposed title, explains that she has forgotten her real name, and searches Chen's heart because it contains a memory of who she was. (Chapters 1192–1193)

Her first proposal is a sacrificial curse: Chen's heart can recover her lost memory, while a curse on his entire being could restore the memories and power of the other specters. She does not force that bargain. When Chen returns and willingly drives her cursed knife into his chest, the memory blooms before the sacrifice is complete. Red High Heels stops the blade with black threads, recovers her true name, and asks whether his choice was worth the cost. (Chapters 1193–1194)

With her identity restored, Red High Heels follows Chen in the march on the Cursed Hospital and helps return his scattered allies to themselves. After the hospital director's defeat, she treats most of the injured employees and absorbs the hospital's remaining curses. She accepts Chen's invitation to stay, then tears apart the personal patient list containing her old picture and history, choosing a shared future over the hatred that had kept her bound to the surgical room. Appearance and personality

When only her vessel is visible, Red High Heels appears as a pristine pair of blood-red shoes that can move, produce footsteps, absorb blood fog, or mark the position of an unseen woman. Her full manifestation is tall and slender, with an elegant bearing beneath bloody bandages wrapped over her entire body. Later, her pale skin, red eyes, red dress, and clothing covered in cursed human names become visible around black-and-red wrappings. (Chapters 617–625, 652, 1192–1194)

She is reserved, proud, and frighteningly deliberate. Red High Heels usually communicates through movement or cursed words written on another person's skin, conserving speech even when threatened. Her willingness to bear the gluttonous woman's attacks and protect Chen contrasts with the cruelty implicit in her accumulated curses. Trust is intensely personal for her: allowing Chen to learn her real name gives him knowledge of her only weakness, and she does so only after he has treated her as family. Curse creation and control

Red High Heels turns blood, pain, and names into curses. Individual drops of her blood can burn a Greater Red opponent, while black-and-red threads can bind bodies, form letters, become blades, and travel through wounds. She can write directly on living skin and manipulate an entire building's curse patterns. Her effects are dangerous even to allies, so careful targeting and distance matter whenever she unleashes her blood. (Chapters 625–652, 1192–1195)

Curse consumption and cleansing

She can absorb curses that ordinary Red Specters avoid, including the residue of cursed altars, the Ghost Fetus's accumulated malice, and the remaining curses of the Cursed Hospital. Consumed curses expand her pressure and can later be redirected or neutralized. She also extracts hostile curses from Chen and treats injured employees, though removing a deep or layered curse takes time and concentrated effort. (Chapters 962–968, 1109–1110, 1206–1207)

Sacrificial curses and true names

Her curse system exchanges pain or flesh for a desired effect. In the false city, she can use Chen's heart to recover a memory or place a curse on his entire being to release other people's stolen memories and strength. Such bargains can be irreversible once activated. Her own true name is simultaneously her greatest secret and only stated weakness, making its voluntary disclosure a profound act of trust. Malleable spectral body

The shoes serve as a stable vessel when Red High Heels withdraws her human-shaped manifestation. In battle, the body above them behaves more like controlled liquid blood than solid flesh, allowing her to shift internal structure and reduce damage from piercing blood vessels. Enough force can still exhaust that form until it fades back into the shoes, and Demon God-level enemies remain beyond her confirmed rank. (Chapters 617–652, 1109–1110)
