Qiumei
Qiumei is Chang Wenyu's steadfast friend, a former host of the Left Oculus whose death leaves her able to manifest as a Red Specter through film.
Biography
Friendship, sacrifice, and the film
As a tomboyish student, Qiumei remains loyal to Chang Wenyu even when the Left Oculus rejects her body and the resulting curse pushes her toward death. The film made around those events first presents her as a threatening woman in red, but her refusal to attack and her willingness to hear Chen Ge recast that image: she is enduring the consequences of trying to help a friend, not hunting strangers for pleasure. She accepts Chen Ge's invitation and later helps him locate Chang Gu. (Chapters 715–726, 758–760)
Qiumei subsequently works with the House of Horrors, often appearing as the woman in a stage costume. Her activity outside a movie remains weaker than her film manifestation, yet she continues accompanying Chen Ge's employees during the futuristic theme park confrontation and related operations. That service gives her an identity beyond the tragedy recorded on screen: she becomes a cooperative ally whose loyalty and restraint are as important as her supernatural strength. Appearance and personality
In life, Qiumei has faded red hair and a direct, tomboyish bearing. In the film she appears as a young woman in red with a damaged or missing left eye, water- and blood-stained as though the recorded tragedy is still clinging to her. She is distrustful but resilient, straightforward, and notably gentle once she recognizes sincere help. (Chapters 715, 724–725)
Skills and supernatural abilities
Qiumei can emerge from a screen and manifest the power of a Red Specter while inside a film. That medium is also her decisive limitation: outside the movie her strength drops sharply and her unnamed special ability cannot be used. Later appearances describe her operating at roughly half-Red-Specter strength away from that domain. (Chapters 723–725, 950–998)
