Ma Wei

Ma Wei, also addressed as Doctor Ma, is a medical worker trapped with colleagues inside the world constructed around the underground morgue.

Biography

Narrative role

Ma Wei awakens among the medical personnel inside Doctor Gao's constructed world and tries to keep the survivors rational and alive. He examines rooms and bodies, shares clinical observations, and weighs each new danger instead of rushing blindly forward. Working beside Li Jiu and Wei Jiuqin, he survives a sequence designed to blur the boundary between professional familiarity and supernatural horror. (Chapters 427–437)

After the constructed ordeal ends, Ma Wei remains alive, but the survivors' memories of what occurred are suppressed. That outcome preserves his life while separating his ordinary medical career from the full truth of Doctor Gao's plan and the underground morgue's supernatural inhabitants. (Chapter 443)

Appearance and personality

Ma Wei is presented as an adult medical professional whose caution initially takes the form of rational explanation. As evidence accumulates, his composure gives way to alarm, but he continues observing and cooperating rather than abandoning the group. (Chapters 427–437)
