Wei Jiuqin

Wei Jiuqin is the personal name of Doctor Wei, a celebrated Western Jiujiang Medical University professor who continues practicing medicine after death. He founded Jiujiang's Life Science Research Center and donated his body to science when he died from lung cancer at seventy-three.

Biography

Professor and spectral physician

Wei Jiuqin's donated body becomes trapped in the underground morgue's door, where his spirit continues trying to save patients amid Doctor Gao's experiments. After Chen Ge rescues him, Wei persuades three other deceased doctors to leave the collapsing world and accepts a position at the House of Horrors. He soon becomes the attraction's senior medical authority, treating unconscious visitors and unstable spirits, managing other doctors, and taking responsibility whenever Chen is away. His later encounters with former students preserve the same principle that governed his life: medical knowledge exists to help others, while the living should not be chained to grief for their dead teacher. Appearance and personality

Wei Jiuqin appears as a stern elderly man in a white lab coat. He is scholarly, compassionate, fearless around medical danger, and still inclined to lecture students. Pride in his pupils never becomes possessiveness; when Wang Qinzhi recognizes him, Wei prefers that the man be spared a lifetime of searching for a ghost. (Chapters 443–480, 708–709, 1134)

Skills and supernatural abilities

Wei has extensive expertise in medicine, anatomy, research, education, and crisis management. As a spirit, he can examine living people and ghosts, explain how fixation sustains the dead, manage supernatural treatment, and physically affect visitors.
