Devastator

Description

Devastator is a bound Servant item that summons a colossal combined machine for five minutes. The summon reproduces the form of the defeated Devastator boss but is a system-controlled reusable servant attached to Zhang Yang's inventory, not a continuing custody claim over a living companion. Its early strengths are area damage and knockback; after its damage becomes obsolete, its rapid hits remain useful for proc-based skills. (Chapters 384–386, 503, and 596)

History and custody

Combined boss and servant reward

The original boss forms when six Gray-Silver machines combine into a Level 88 Yellow-Gold Devastator. Zhang defeats the composite and its separated components, then opens the resulting gold chest to find Servant: Devastator. The item binds on pickup; he replaces the outdated Clear Lotus servant in his regular summon slot and immediately tests the new machine. (Chapters 384–385)

At Level 88, the servant's statistics resemble those of a player in Level 80 Yellow-Gold equipment, and Quake Strike makes it a formidable crowd clearer. Its huge body is also a practical constraint: Zhang avoids summoning it inside a house for fear of destroying the building, and later appearances confirm that it can fill passages or break cave ceilings merely by materializing. (Chapters 385–386, 397, and 545)

From damage source to proc engine

Devastator contributes enough damage to raise Zhang's total output above his party's individual attackers, and it remains a useful extra body through multiple boss raids. Environmental attacks can destroy a summoned instance—defense-ignoring green fire drills it apart immediately—but destruction does not erase the bound item; Zhang can summon it again after the shared Servant cooldown. (Chapters 402, 409–427)

As player and boss tiers advance, its Silver-tier damage becomes negligible. Zhang repurposes it to increase hit count for Glare of the Death God, whose 10% trigger check depends on successful hits rather than damage magnitude. Devastator's rapid punches repeatedly help trigger the effect even when enemies destroy the servant within minutes, preserving tactical value after its ordinary DPS has expired. (Chapters 503–517, 545, and 596)

Abilities and mechanics

The item summons Devastator for five minutes, permits only one active Servant, and places all Servants on a shared thirty-minute cooldown. At its first test, the Level 88 summon has 22,400 base HP, 25,980 under Vitality Aura, 2,500 Defense, 4,689–5,289 melee damage, a three-second attack interval, and 1,663 DPS. The item requires Level 80 and is bound on pickup. (Chapter 385)

Quake Strike channels for ten seconds, dealing 2,000 physical damage every two seconds within a twenty-by-twenty-meter area, with a five-minute cooldown. Force Blast knocks all targets within five meters back ten meters and interrupts casting, also on a five-minute cooldown. Heavy Fist deals one normal melee-attack equivalent every five seconds. The long cooldowns on its two utility skills and the required Quake channel limit sustained output. (Chapter 385)

The summon is exceptionally large and obeys ordinary environmental danger. It can wreck enclosed spaces, block passages, and be destroyed by attacks that ignore Defense, damage immunity, and absorption. Its attacks still count toward its owner's damage and proc checks, so weak late-game hits can remain mechanically relevant even when they no longer contribute meaningful raw damage. (Chapters 397, 411, 427, 503, and 545)

Relationships

  • Zhang Yang: The bound owner who defeats the original machine, claims the reusable summon item, and later changes its role from damage dealer to hit-count support. (Chapters 384–385, 427, and 503–596)
  • Felice: A battle companion whose rapid attacks combine with Devastator's hits when Zhang tries to trigger Glare of the Death God. Felice remains an independent living companion, unlike the bound Servant item. (Chapters 503–505 and 545)
  • Wei Yan Er: A party member whose own lower-tier servant is compared unfavorably with Devastator during early raids. (Chapter 409)
