Souron

Souron, the Shadow Demon and Dark One, is the ruler associated with Souron's Castle and the first open-world Holy-tier boss defeated on the server. Born from the Shadow God's left eye and carrying part of the Death God's power, he combines extreme-range death magic, raid-wide shadow damage, regeneration, and a removable berserk state. Biography

Regional War and World Competition

Souron's Castle already matters as a high-tier territory when Zhang Yang enters Mar Gaia Forest, but the demon himself is initially encountered through his plan and servants. A Dark Rider declares that the master's objective must not be disrupted, and Souron dispatches a large force to recover The One Ring after detecting it. General Turkin Han turns that response into an opening: while the army is drawn away, he sends Zhang Yang's party along a hidden route to strike the underdefended lair, arguing that killing Souron will cast the demon's followers back into the abyss. (Chapters 677, 679–680)

Souron erupts from the earth at the castle and declares that the world belongs to him. His scale and regeneration force the entire thirteen-member party, its battle companions, and both Phoenixes to activate transformations, while the first Absolute Bind Forbidden Scroll supplies recurring windows for healing and skill recovery. Souron repeatedly enters Demon Unleash and mocks the challengers as mortals, but The One Ring removes the state each time its cooldown becomes available. The fight lasts roughly fifty-three minutes, and his confidence turns to alarm once his health falls low enough for him to recognize that the party can finish the kill. (Chapters 683–684)

At defeat, Souron insists that he is eternal and will merely sleep for ten thousand years. His huge body turns to dust, leaves its single eye behind, and then releases the first open-world Holy-tier loot and the Territory Command Order for Souron's Castle. The system records the kill even though his final speech frames it as dormancy. The castle consequently becomes a major player territory and transport hub under Zhang Yang; it is later overrun by Angus's Spectres, but the underlying command system still allows Zhang Yang to reclaim it once the invading battle state is cleared. Appearance and personality

Souron is a nearly thirty-meter humanoid demon covered in armor-like scales. He has a long spiked tail, a forehead horn as long as his head, and one enormous eye covering almost half his face; its pupil is striped dark orange and black. His killing aura is described as strong enough to crack a rusted helmet, and his entrance physically splits the earth. (Chapter 683)

He is domineering, theatrical, and convinced of his own cosmic importance. Souron calls himself the king of shadows, claims the world as his property, and treats the raid as insects interfering with power accumulated over ages. Once his health falls below fifteen percent, his contempt changes to fear and disbelief, although he recovers enough defiance to promise a future return. The text supplies no sympathetic motive or ordinary social identity beyond his embodiment of evil, shadow, and destruction. (Chapters 683–684)

Abilities and gameplay

Souron is a Level 170 Holy-tier Demon with 1.7 billion health, 17,660 defense, and 140,086–200,086 melee attack at inspection. His lore identifies him as the Shadow God's left eye and a bearer of Death God power. The encounter demands high-tier transformations because ordinary damage cannot outpace his regeneration and untransformed players cannot safely absorb his attacks. (Chapter 683)

Death Glare and shadow offense

Death Glare fires an instant death ray with a base value of 200,000 damage. Its description increases damage by one hundred percent for every ten meters of distance and gives it a maximum range of ten thousand meters, so the party remains within thirty meters to avoid the lethal long-range scaling even though close-range exposure continues. The ray cannot simply be dodged after Souron's eye lights, making range discipline and sufficient transformed health the practical counters. (Chapter 683)

Shadow's Touch deals one hundred percent Shadow melee damage as True Strike to every target within fifty meters. Souron releases waves of black skulls roughly every ten seconds, and the indiscriminate attack can also strike his own lackeys. The cadence pressures every healer simultaneously and becomes faster below ten percent health; lower-class inheritors take a much larger share of their transformed health than the party's strongest members. Rotting Strike deals one hundred fifty percent melee physical damage while wasting the target's defenses. In the documented fight it hits Zhang Yang for more than two hundred thousand even outside Souron's berserk state, making transformation-scale health and active defensive timing necessary. (Chapter 683)

Regeneration and Demon Unleash

Demon's Constitution restores one percent of Souron's maximum health every thirty seconds and cannot be weakened by recovery-reduction effects. With 1.7 billion health, this regeneration exceeds what the small party could damage without inheritance transformations. It forces the encounter to maintain sustained high output for nearly an hour rather than relying on occasional burst attacks. (Chapters 683–684)

Demon Unleash raises Souron's damage and movement speed by one thousand percent. He demonstrates the state with a strike exceeding 1.5 million damage, then reactivates it about fifty seconds after the previous removal. The One Ring can nullify the state within thirty meters but has a sixty-second cooldown, leaving a recurring ten-second gap in which Zhang Yang must use Shield Wall, transformed health, or a timely Absolute Bind trigger to survive. The ring is therefore a designed counter, not evidence that Souron lacks the underlying power. (Chapters 680 and 683–684)

Absolute Bind is also external to Souron's kit. Its pillars have a chance to chain him for ten seconds every three seconds over a ten-minute duration, interrupting movement and buying the raid time to heal, restore mana, and realign cooldowns. Souron remains capable of acting whenever the chance does not trigger, so the scroll lowers risk without replacing the required damage and healing. (Chapters 683–684)

Relationships

• Zhang Yang: The leader of the infiltration and Souron's main tank. Zhang Yang coordinates the transformed party, uses Absolute Bind, survives Demon Unleash, and ultimately gains control of the castle through the boss's defeat. (Chapters 680 and 683–689)
• Wei Yan Er: The temporary wielder of The One Ring. She repeatedly activates its golden light to strip Demon Unleash, denying Souron the burst state needed to destroy the party. (Chapters 680 and 683–684)
• General Turkin Han: An opposing commander who recognizes that Souron's effort to reclaim the ring leaves the castle vulnerable. He provides the ring, the detour map, and the mission to strike Souron's lair. (Chapter 680)
• Angus: A later, stronger Spectre ruler whose army overruns the territory created from Souron's defeat. Their shared association is the castle and Spectre expansion; the corpus does not show them meeting directly. (Chapters 748 and 756)

Items

• The One Ring: A temporary Celestial-tier quest artifact forged at Sunfall Volcano and sought by Souron. It functions only inside his castle, dispels Demon Unleash, and is scheduled to disappear once the Shadow Demon is defeated; Wei Yan Er, not Souron, wields it during the battle. • Territory Command Order: Souron's Castle: A black command order among Souron's drops. It converts the defeated demon's stronghold into a conquerable high-tier territory ultimately controlled by Zhang Yang. (Chapters 684–689)
