Sky Shaman

Sky Shaman is the guild master of Sky High and a Dwarf Guardian who leads from the front as a main tank. He begins as a rival in the race for dungeon first clears, but becomes one of Zhang Yang's recurring regional peers, cooperating in large raids and later providing a crucial navigation-map fragment. (Chapters 12, 49–51, 181–193, 213–363, and 641)

Biography

Lone Desert Smoke and Soaring Swords

Sky Shaman first appears on the level rankings as a Level 10 Dwarf Guardian. When the major guilds gather for an early dungeon race, he is identified as Sky High's guild master and rejects ceremonial politeness as empty performance. He confidently joins the wager over the first clear, rallies his elite team, and treats rival Humbly Gentleman with open hostility. After the team wipes and revives, he tells Zhang Yang that Sky High has not reached the relevant stage, concealing its actual progress rather than giving a competitor free information. (Chapters 12 and 49–51)

His later dealings show a suspicious but disciplined leader. Sky Shaman recognizes that Zhang Yang may be maneuvering around a Land Lease, issues terse commands when action is required, and cannot independently stake one million gold because Sky High's sponsorship arrangement constrains financial decisions. The limitation does not remove his authority over gameplay: in the Bangla expedition, he assembles twenty well-equipped tanks and more than ten healers, personally holds the boss's aggression, and orders melee players away from its area attack. (Chapters 119, 128, 177, and 181)

When Humbly Gentleman instigates an attempted kill-steal after the boss falls, Sky Shaman reacts quickly under leader-distribution rules and protects Sky High's share of the loot. He is furious and threatens retaliation, but later postpones revenge because preserving enough players to survive the expedition's ten waves matters more than settling the feud immediately. That restraint keeps the regional force functional and shows that his blunt temper does not prevent him from ranking objectives. (Chapters 182 and 186)

The same expedition also measures Sky Shaman against stronger tanks. Against Mimina, five stacks of Cripple Defense leave his physical attacks at roughly two hundred damage and Shield Bash at roughly one hundred, making it difficult to hold aggression; Zhang Yang takes control in about fifteen seconds and receives less damage while tanking. Sky Shaman still survives deep into the event, places seventh in its contribution rewards, and follows Zhang Yang's group when only a small number of regional leaders remain. His value lies in prepared force leadership and reliable tanking, not in being the setting's single best Guardian. (Chapters 190 and 193)

After those conflicts, Sky Shaman settles into a durable peer relationship with Zhang Yang and the other leading guild masters. He repeatedly sends congratulations, participates in cooperative events, and uses the shared teleport network rather than allowing the early first-clear rivalry to define every encounter. At his latest documented appearance, he transfers the seventh piece of the Navigation Map: Gagaro's Mist to Zhang Yang, enabling the complete map to be assembled. He remains alive, active, and in command of Sky High, with no later class or guild change stated. (Chapters 213, 246, 289, 363, 521, and 641)

Appearance and personality

Sky Shaman's avatar is a Dwarf Guardian, but the supplied corpus does not state a stable hair color, facial description, height, armor set, or real-world appearance. His visual role is communicated primarily through the shield-bearing tank position and his presence at the head of Sky High's raid formations. (Chapters 12, 181, and 190)

He is blunt, confident, and competitive, with little patience for false courtesy. His hatred of Humbly Gentleman can produce threats, while his treatment of rivals includes deliberate misinformation. He is nevertheless strategically practical: he keeps melee fighters out of lethal range, delays revenge to preserve a larger defense, and continues cooperating with capable peers after early contests end. (Chapters 49–51, 181–186, and 193)

Abilities and gameplay

Sky Shaman is a Guardian built to hold enemy attention, absorb direct attacks, and command organized raids. His recorded play combines shield-based threat generation with control over tank and healer rotations, but his performance depends on armor, healing support, debuff state, and the target's defenses. (Chapters 181 and 190)

Guardian tanking

As the Bangla raid's main tank, Sky Shaman establishes aggression while a large healing team sustains him and additional tanks stand ready. He keeps melee players outside the boss's area-of-effect range and centralizes its facing and attacks on himself. This is a demonstrated raid formation rather than proof that he can withstand the same boss alone: the encounter relies on approximately twenty equipped tanks, more than ten healers, and coordinated damage dealers. (Chapter 181)

Sky Shaman uses Shield Bash as part of his threat rotation. Against Mimina, however, five Cripple Defense stacks and the boss's mitigation reduce his attacks to low hundreds, so his aggression generation cannot keep pace with Zhang Yang's. Zhang Yang seizes the target in about fifteen seconds and tanks it more efficiently. The comparison establishes a real ceiling against elite competition without negating Sky Shaman's competence in encounters where his team and gear are properly matched. (Chapter 190)

Raid leadership and resource control

Sky Shaman can mobilize Sky High's elite team, organize large tank-and-healer groups, issue concise advance or retreat orders, and control loot quickly when leader distribution is active. He also distinguishes immediate tactical survival from a longer guild feud, postponing retaliation until the joint expedition is secure. His sponsorship prevents him from treating guild funds as entirely personal money, so major financial wagers may require authority beyond his own battlefield command. (Chapters 49, 128, 177, 181–186)

His strategic style includes withholding progress from competitors and scrutinizing apparent offers for hidden motives. Those methods preserve Sky High's position, but they do not grant special detection mechanics or immunity to deception; they are leadership choices supported by experience rather than named Guardian abilities. (Chapters 51 and 119)

Relationships

  • Zhang Yang: An early first-clear rival who becomes a respected raid leader and cooperative peer. Sky Shaman follows Zhang Yang's command in regional events, maintains friendly contact, and ultimately gives him the final fragment needed to complete Gagaro's Mist. (Chapters 49–51, 193, 213–363, and 641)
  • Humbly Gentleman: Sky Shaman's most openly hated rival. Their feud escalates after Humbly Gentleman instigates a kill-steal, although Sky Shaman delays revenge when the wider expedition requires cooperation. (Chapters 49, 182, and 186)
  • Snow Seeker: A fellow guild master and recurring participant in regional raids, reward distributions, and cooperative planning. They compete for standing while sharing broader strategic interests. (Chapters 183–193, 213, and 246)
  • Crimson Fire: Another early guild leader who joins the same major expeditions and later remains in the circle of players who congratulate Zhang Yang and use shared regional infrastructure. (Chapters 183–193, 213, and 246)

Items

  • Navigation Map: Gagaro's Mist, seventh piece: A map fragment held by Sky Shaman and transferred to Zhang Yang, who combines it with the other six pieces to complete the route. (Chapter 641)
  • Shield: Sky Shaman's Guardian role and use of Shield Bash require a shield, but the corpus does not give his personal shield a name, tier, or permanent statistics. (Chapters 181 and 190)
