Musashi
Musashi, usually styled Musashi Ou-sama or Musashi Ousama, is a leading Japan-Korea player and Level 92 Templar when introduced in the Realm of Sacred Glory. He combines strong mounted dueling fundamentals with a Class C Tornado, later called Whirlwind, Inheritance, but his pride and regional rivalry repeatedly draw him into losing confrontations with Zhang Yang. (Chapters 439–443, 536–539, and 595–596)
Biography
Inheritances and Territorial War
Musashi enters the final Sacred Glory round ranked fifth with 2,713 Glory Points. At a contested chest he uses his raptor and hammer to evade Zhang Yang with controls close enough to earn respect, yet he cannot win the long melee exchange. Shield strikes intended only to humiliate him break his composure, and he eventually abandons the chest before Zhang Yang pursues and kills him. In the next major standoff, provocation tied to national pride draws him into a first-time alliance with Captain America; neither accepts a supporting role, their coordination suffers, and Zhang Yang eliminates Musashi after a prolonged two-against-one fight. (Chapters 439–441)
His later Sacred Glory position remains close enough to the leaders to matter, but opportunistic alliances do not protect him. When several players converge on the deciding competition, Captain America turns on Musashi and helps kill him, prompting an angry accusation of betrayal. The episode reinforces a pattern in which Musashi can cooperate pragmatically but treats status and honor as personal matters that readily disrupt tactical trust. (Chapters 442–443)
Musashi next appears with Shuro Ousama during Sakura no Nagare Mae's assault on Winst Castle. Both activate Class C Inheritance Transformations and receive extensive healer support, but their roughly one-million transformed health pools and doubled attacks remain far below Zhang Yang's Class S transformation. Unable to stop him, they redirect their greatest skills into the defending NPC army. Musashi becomes a full whirlwind, throwing soldiers into the air for direct and fall damage, but even that demonstration cannot prevent Sakura no Nagare Mae from being annihilated. (Chapters 536–539)
During Zhang Yang's mission to rescue Banct, Musashi and Shuro lead seven transformed Japan-Korea players in another intervention. Musashi launches a slow tornado intended to spin Zhang Yang helplessly and drop him for fall damage. Zhang Yang reads its trajectory, circles the boss, and returns to position untouched; his ability to fly would also have negated the fall component. Musashi remains active after this failure, but the corpus does not record a later outcome for him. (Chapters 595–596)
Appearance and personality
The corpus identifies Musashi's avatar as a human male Templar mounted on a raptor and carrying a large two-handed hammer; one passage calls the weapon an axe, creating a minor translation inconsistency. His visual identity also leans into a self-conscious samurai pose, including holding the hammer at his waist as though preparing a sword draw. No real-world appearance is given. (Chapters 439–440, 536–537)
Musashi is proud, nationalistic, competitive, and easily provoked by perceived humiliation. He invokes racial superiority in his first duel, frames shield contact as dishonorable, and responds strongly when Zhang Yang mocks him or his region. At the same time, his mounted evasions, calculated withdrawal from an unfavorable exchange, and delayed use of high-cost inheritance skills show that anger coexists with some tactical restraint. (Chapters 440–443 and 536–538)
Abilities and gameplay
Templar combat and mounted control
At introduction, Musashi is a Level 92 Templar with roughly 80,000 HP in the Sacred Glory environment. He fights in melee with a hammer and controls a raptor battle mount well enough for his evasive movement to approach Zhang Yang's, though the more experienced Guardian ultimately stays on him and wins. The corpus does not name a base Templar skill unique to Musashi. (Chapters 439–440)
His ordinary transformed strike against Zhang Yang deals 6,914 damage. The comparison is explicitly unfavorable: Class C transformation doubles attack but caps its illustrated maximum below 25,000, while Zhang Yang's Class S attack and defense make both Musashi's damage and durability inadequate. Musashi therefore needs a large healer group simply to remain in the Winst fight. (Chapter 536)
Tornado and Whirlwind Inheritance
Musashi's Class C inheritance is called Tornado Inheritance when first recognized and Whirlwind Inheritance when its major skill is demonstrated. Activating the transformation takes his original health of more than 60,000—and more than 100,000 while mounted—to roughly one million HP. Like other Class C inheritances, it does not grant free flight, leaving airborne Class S users able to dictate distance. (Chapters 536, 538, and 545)
His greatest Whirlwind skill turns him into a moving vortex that deals about 20,000 damage, throws nearby enemies into the air, and can add up to 10,000 fall damage unless descent is slowed. It kills normal NPCs outright and heavily disrupts elites. Inheritance energy regenerates at one point per ten seconds; the skill ends when that resource is exhausted and then faces a very long cooldown, preventing constant use. (Chapter 538)
Musashi can also send a tornado forward as a projectile. It deals heavy damage, spins a struck target uncontrollably, and then inflicts fall damage, making it better against a dense crowd than a mobile single opponent. The projectile itself moves slowly enough to sidestep, and flight negates its fall component even if the control lands. (Chapter 596)
Chapter 537 briefly attributes a four-skeleton summon to Musashi, but the surrounding identification and later repeated use assign the Skeletal Spectre Inheritance to Shuro and the Tornado/Whirlwind Inheritance to Musashi. The isolated skeleton attribution is therefore treated as a source inconsistency rather than part of Musashi's established kit. (Chapters 536–538 and 596)
Relationships
- Zhang Yang: Musashi's principal rival defeats him in Sacred Glory, outclasses his Class C transformation at Winst Castle, and sidesteps his tornado during the Helena mission. Musashi's mechanical competence never closes the gap created by Zhang Yang's experience, gear, and Class S inheritance. (Chapters 440–443, 536–539, and 595–596)
- Shuro Ousama: Shuro is his recurring Japan-Korea partner. They transform together at Winst Castle and later join the same seven-player inheritance group, with Musashi supplying tornado control while Shuro supplies skeletal summons. (Chapters 536–539 and 595–596)
- Captain America: Musashi accepts an unprecedented temporary alliance with him against Zhang Yang, but poor cooperation follows because neither wants to serve as support. Captain America later helps eliminate Musashi in a separate convergence, which Musashi condemns as betrayal. (Chapters 441 and 443)
- Amaou Kuyoshi: Amaou Kuyoshi commands the Sakura no Nagare Mae offensive and redirects Musashi away from the unsuccessful pursuit of Zhang Yang toward the castle interior. Musashi obeys and uses Whirlwind against the NPC defenders. (Chapter 538)
Items
- Raptor battle mount: Musashi rides a raptor during Sacred Glory and uses it for high-level evasive maneuvering. It improves his battlefield mobility but does not keep Zhang Yang from staying in melee range. (Chapter 440)
- Two-handed hammer: His primary weapon is consistently presented as a large hammer in his early duel and Winst attack, though one later line calls it an axe. Its exact name and statistics are not stated. (Chapters 440, 536–537)
