Death Arbiter

Death Arbiter is a top Chinese Berserker whose real-world martial-arts training, two-handed weapon pressure, and Class B Demon Hunter inheritance bring him rapid fame. He rises from Goldilocks to The Myth, becomes its guildmaster after Liu Wei's death, and later joins Eternal Flame, but his pride repeatedly draws him into losing confrontations with Zhang Yang. (Chapters 621–626, 659–669, 765–785, and 851)

Biography

Regional War and World Competition

Death Arbiter begins as Goldilocks' main attacker, but leaves because the small guild can provide neither elite equipment nor competition above the C-Class Professional League. Liu Wei recruits him into The Myth, funds a near-complete Mythical equipment set, and directs guild members to accelerate his leveling. At Level 120, Death Arbiter defeats Galileo and then challenges Lone Desert Smoke publicly, beating several members and offering to face thirteen at once. His equipment and B-Class inheritance overwhelm the weaker group, and a close fight with One Sword Stroke establishes him as a rising elite even though Zhang Yang subsequently outplays and humiliates him. (Chapters 621–626)

Death Arbiter soon becomes The Myth's most effective field combatant. With cooperative teammates and his Demon Hunter Transformation, he drives Sengoku Daimyo backward and builds international recognition. His rivalry with Zhang Yang remains damaging: the Phoenix Pet interrupts one objective, and later Zhang Yang kills him with Killing Cleave while mocking their earlier confrontation. After Liu Wei dies, Death Arbiter takes over The Myth but lacks the money to retain its paid stars, reducing the guild to second-rate status. The Myth then becomes subordinate to Eternal Flame, where Death Arbiter joins Zhong Xiu Hua's side and earns a place on the Class A Battle Team. He participates in the group's plot against Zhang Yang and remains with Zhong Xiu Hua's associates at his latest appearance, where a four-hundred-million offer exposes how easily their loyalty might shift. (Chapters 659–669, 765, 777, 783–785, and 851)

Appearance and personality

Death Arbiter's avatar is an Orc Warrior wearing a metallic, almost complete set of Mythical-tier armor and carrying a two-handed battle axe. During Demon Hunter Transformation he grows into a huge muscular figure with dark horns, red eyes, batlike black wings, and dark-green runes burning with ghastly flames across his bare upper body; despite the wings, this form cannot fly. The corpus does not give a stable description of his ordinary real-world face, hair, eyes, height, or clothing. (Chapters 621 and 624)

He is boastful, aggressive, vulgar, and intensely concerned with reputation. Death Arbiter taunts weaker opponents, considers retreat or a public loss intolerable, and activates his transformation largely because being defeated without forcing Zhang Yang to transform would cost him face. He nevertheless has genuine discipline and skill: the narration describes him as a hoodlum who trained without losing his crude manner, and his real-world martial arts make his supporting attacks difficult even for elite players to handle. (Chapters 621, 623–624, and 785)

Abilities and gameplay

Death Arbiter is an offensive Berserker who wields a two-handed weapon and uses real-world martial arts to strengthen normal game actions with supporting attacks. Against another Warrior, his larger weapon gives him higher raw attack even when percentage health loss from exchanged Killing Cleaves is similar. He uses Tornado Cleave for heavy area damage and can execute a target under twenty percent health with Killing Cleave, but his performance still depends on equipment, healer support, and maintaining close range. (Chapters 623–624 and 783)

Demon Hunter inheritance

The Class B Demon Hunter Transformation multiplies maximum health by twenty, increases attack by three hundred percent, triples defense, and grants twenty-percent magic immunity. It also adds fifty-percent damage against demons, while making its user take additional damage from Sacred and Holy attacks. Death Arbiter's transformed wings are cosmetic rather than functional, so he continues to rely on the Mechanical Quad-Wing Tiger for mobility. The form is time-limited; Zhang Yang prolongs their conflict until the transformation expires, ending Death Arbiter's enhanced resistance. (Chapters 622 and 624–625)

The inheritance is powerful against ordinary players but not a substitute for matchup knowledge. Neither Zhang Yang, Felice, nor the Phoenix Pet counts as a demon, so the form's bonus damage does not apply to them. Zhang Yang's superior reflexes answer Death Arbiter's martial supporting attacks, while the Phoenix's area flames kill or drive off the healers supporting him. The result demonstrates two limits at once: Death Arbiter cannot exploit his inheritance's favored target type, and his transformed durability fails once the surrounding team support collapses. (Chapters 624–625)

Relationships

  • Zhang Yang: Death Arbiter's defining rival. Zhang Yang answers his public attack on Lone Desert Smoke, repeatedly humiliates him in combat, and later kills him with Killing Cleave; Death Arbiter then joins schemes aimed at undermining Zhang Yang outside direct competition. (Chapters 621–625, 669, and 783–785)
  • Liu Wei: The sponsor who brings Death Arbiter from Goldilocks into The Myth, equips him, and makes him the guild's combat centerpiece. Death Arbiter succeeds him as guildmaster but cannot sustain the same spending. (Chapters 621–625 and 765)
  • One Sword Stroke: An early elite opponent whose reflexes let him answer Death Arbiter's supporting attacks. Their fight helps establish Death Arbiter's reputation even though One Sword Stroke's tank health offsets the Berserker's stronger weapon damage. (Chapters 623–624 and 626)
  • Zhong Xiu Hua: Death Arbiter joins his Eternal Flame faction and participates in the conspiracy against Zhang Yang. At the latest meeting, Death Arbiter's reaction to Longrich's proposed price underscores the group's transactional loyalty. (Chapters 765, 785, and 851)
  • Phoenix Pet: Its transformed flames match Death Arbiter's attack while also striking his healers, removing the support needed to sustain his duel with Zhang Yang. (Chapters 624 and 669)

Items

  • Mechanical Quad-Wing Tiger: Death Arbiter's flying battle mount and the source of his mobility while transformed, since the Demon Hunter form's own wings do not permit flight. Its pairing with the transformation becomes part of his widely noticed battlefield display. (Chapters 624 and 659)
  • Two-handed battle axe: His primary documented weapon type. It supports Berserker burst and Tornado Cleave, giving him greater attack than a one-handed tank build but requiring close engagement. (Chapters 621 and 623–624)
  • Mythical-tier armor set: The Myth finances an almost complete set with a metallic luster; the ring and necklace may still be Violet-Platinum tier when Zhang Yang first inspects him. The investment is a major reason Death Arbiter can dominate less-equipped challengers. (Chapter 621)
