Si Liang Hong

Si Liang Hong is the long-lived ancestor of the Si Clan and one of Azure River County's dominant mortal experts. Her Blood Demon transformation, political connections, and fortified tower let her govern from a position just below Transcendence, but her authority is eventually superseded when Dong Bo Xue Ying becomes the county's protector.

Biography

County power and submission to a new protector

Before appearing directly, Si Liang Hong is described as one of the county's “two skies,” a Legend mage whose strength and Transcendent-family relationships give the Si Clan broad control over guilt, innocence, and local administration. Her caution is as important as that influence: even Xiang Pang Yun says she avoids a true battle with him. After Xue Ying and Xiang Pang Yun disappear at Black-Wind Cliff, she has the underworld chief Cui Jin Peng detained and disposed of cleanly, seeking to prevent the Sorcerer's Palace affair from bringing Transcendent anger onto the county she governs. When Xue Ying returns as a Transcendent and assumes protector authority, Si Liang Hong leads the county's Legend experts to Snowrock Castle. She promises the Si Clan's support and discreetly asks how he wants Kong You Yue handled, shifting from autonomous local ruler to cooperative subordinate rather than challenging an authority she cannot match. Her later life is absent; Chapter 593 shows her among deceased figures in the River of Time, but does not state when or how she died. (Chapters 98 and 593)

Appearance and personality

Si Liang Hong retains the appearance of an enchanting woman despite being more than five hundred years old. She has blood-red hair, white skin, red clothing, and the supernatural charm associated with her Blood Demon body. Politically she is guarded, unsentimental, and attentive to consequences: she eliminates a liability after the cliff disaster, worries about Transcendent retaliation, and accommodates Xue Ying once power in the county changes. Abilities and cultivation

Si Liang Hong is a Legend-rank mage who transformed her flesh into that of a Blood Demon. The change greatly extends her lifespan beyond the normal mortal limit and produces a captivating charm. It does not make her a true Transcendent: reports place her only a step away, compare her unfavorably with Xiang Pang Yun in direct combat, and later estimate that two Bronze Emissaries could kill her. The corpus does not explain the transformation ritual, cost, blood requirements, or whether it can be reversed. (Chapters 28, 46, 63, 66, 69, and 174)

Her Blood Demon Tower contains enough traps to deter even Transcendents, demonstrating extensive magical preparation and defensive advantage on home ground. No direct battle preserves her spell mechanics, and the tower's individual arrays, activation rules, and limits are unnamed. Chapter 593 confirms death rather than a later breakthrough. • Dong Bo Xue Ying: Si Liang Hong initially represents an established county power he expects to surpass; after his Transcendence, she recognizes his protector authority and offers full cooperation. (Chapters 28–29 and 98)
• Xiang Pang Yun: The two are Azure River County's most feared mortal experts, although Xiang is considered stronger and says Si Liang Hong will not risk a true battle with him. (Chapters 28, 59, 63, and 66)
