Xiang Pang Yun

Xiang Pang Yun is Azure River County's strongest assassin and a concealed mutated magical beast. Contracted to act against Dong Bo Xue Ying, he pursues the young lord from Snowrock Mountain to Black-Wind Cliff and nearly kills him before Xue Ying's breakthrough reverses the fight. Later appearances are recollections rather than survival evidence, and no competing identity is present. (Chapters 42, 59–78, and 1274)

Biography

Snow Eagle Territory and Black-Wind Cliff

Xiang Pang Yun's reputation places him above Si Liang Hong on the Dragon Mountain Book and makes him the only local assassin expected to kill an ordinary Legend ranker in one move. During the Snowrock Castle conflict he attacks Xue Ying, follows when the younger fighter deliberately retreats toward Black-Wind Cliff, and reveals a stronger four-hooved beast form. Xue Ying cannot win conventionally and instead uses the dangerous terrain to create a final chance. (Chapters 42 and 59–70)

As Xue Ying is swept into the abyss, his bloodline breakthrough ignites world flame around thrown spears; three strike Xiang Pang Yun's vital points and kill him. Public accounts initially call the clash mutual destruction, making Xiang Pang Yun's death central to Xue Ying's fame and his family's grief. Much later Xue Ying retells the event as the moment an emergency breakthrough saved him, with no suggestion that Xiang Pang Yun returned. (Chapters 71–78, 86–91, 114, 221, and 1274)

Appearance and personality

The surviving combat text identifies Xiang Pang Yun's true body as a winged, four-hooved mutated beast but does not preserve a complete color, size, or human-form description. He is perceptive enough to recognize Xue Ying's plan at Black-Wind Cliff and relentless enough to continue despite the terrain's known danger, prioritizing the kill until retreat is no longer possible. Abilities and cultivation

Xiang Pang Yun is a Legend-ranked expert with One with the World perception, exceptional eyesight, and assassination power above other Azure River County figures. His beast transformation further increases strength and provides wings, forcing Xue Ying to flee rather than trade direct attacks. The exact species, transformation cost, recovery, and named techniques are not supplied. (Chapters 59, 63–71, and 221)

His limit is the gap between overwhelming a weaker Legend and surviving a sudden Realm of Myriad Existences-level breakthrough. Xue Ying's world-flame-enhanced short spears penetrate three vital points and kill him; later comparisons treat that victory as proof of Xue Ying's extraordinary early combat power. • Dong Bo Xue Ying: Assassination target and killer. Xiang Pang Yun dominates most of their pursuit, but Xue Ying turns the cliff and a bloodline breakthrough into a lethal counterattack. (Chapters 59–73 and 1274)
