From Snowrock Castle to the Kong Clan's rise

You Yue's father placed her near Xue Ying and encouraged the match, while Xue Ying supported her mage training and gave her costly equipment. She presented affection during six years at Snowrock Castle, but privately treated relationships as routes to advancement and shifted her attention toward Si Chen because marriage into the Si Clan promised far greater security. Xue Ying interpreted the deception as a betrayal of friendship and cut ties. After his apparent fall into Black-Wind Abyss, You Yue left for Azure River County with Si Chen, entered the imperial refiner workshop through his influence, and became a Heaven-rank mage before both were expelled. Xue Ying later refused to punish her when the Si Clan asked what he wanted done. More than twenty years afterward, her labor had helped the Kong Clan acquire valuable property and live well, although her refusal to defer to Baron Yin created a new, unresolved threat in the latest evidence.
