Sacred Master

Sacred Master is a Destruction Devil from an earlier era who survives a Great Apocalypse, reaches the final realm in the Dao of Lightning, and rules the Ancient Sacred Religion through soul control. His attempt to turn the belief of countless beings into control of the Primal Chaos Void's Supreme Law makes him the dominant enemy of its independent cultivators and a continuing personal enemy of Dong Bo Xue Ying. His position collapses when Xue Ying and Swordmaster obtain the strength to drive him into hiding, and Xue Ying ultimately erases him after becoming the master of their Origin World. Most supplied chapters from 239 through 1099 preserve only opening fragments, and the matches in Chapters 393 and 493 refer to the separate figure “Sacred Master Crimson Dust”; consequently, the account below begins with this character's first unambiguous local evidence and does not reconstruct missing transitions.

Biography

Religion, pursuit, and established supremacy

By Chapter 825, the Ancient Sacred Religion is already converting crisis into submission. One follower describes the choice offered to frightened cultivators as death or membership in the religion and calls service to Sacred Master a privilege. Later chapters explain the machinery behind this loyalty: light from the Ancient Sacred Pagoda covers the Ancient Sacred World, and those exposed to Sacred Master's soul brands become willing to sacrifice themselves or attack friends and relatives at his command. His ambition is not merely political rule. He uses the belief of an enormous population to accumulate energy for an eventual attempt to grasp the Origin World's Supreme Law. Sacred Master treats powerful independent cultivators as threats or resources. Forefather Tian Yu recounts that he repeatedly pursued the injured Voidwalker Gu Qi but stopped short of paying the price needed to finish him at that time; Sacred Master later kills Gu Qi after using the Ancient Sacred Incarnation's power. The killing gives Xue Ying a personal reason to oppose him, while his broad coercion of cultivators makes that vendetta part of a larger conflict over whether anyone in the Primal Chaos Void can remain free of his control. When Sacred Master moves against the Great Void Heaven Temple, his multi-colored lance carries enough force to shake its entrance defenses. Ancestor Sorcerer and World Ancestor restrain him while Blade Emperor protects the temple, and Sacred Master recognizes that this prepared combination prevents him from easily destroying it. Xue Ying observes that the slaughter, destruction, light, and thunder mysteries in Sacred Master's attacks all arise from a single grayish-thunder source, and that this power lets him suppress Ancestor Sorcerer and World Ancestor together even though he cannot simply overcome the entire alliance. Capturing Xue Ying and provoking a counterattack

Sacred Master's desire for techniques he does not possess creates an opening for manipulation. He has tried threats, inducements, and murder to obtain Monarch Nine Cloud's lineage, but cannot unravel its protected techniques or satisfy the avatar-technique prerequisite for its core inheritance. When Scarlet-Browed Mountain Master directs his attention toward Xue Ying's deductions, Sacred Master captures Xue Ying and patiently questions him over irreplaceable wine from the primitive Ancient Sacred World. Xue Ying chooses to dissipate his own soul rather than yield the technique, escaping permanent death only through a Realm Heart Order unknown to Sacred Master. Believing Xue Ying dead, Sacred Master later infiltrates the Great Void Heaven Temple and demands the Destructive Realm Teleportation technique. He captures disciples, kills those used as leverage when the demand is refused, imprisons Yu Jing Qiu and other survivors for continuing torture, and turns the resulting battle into the destruction of the Seven Star Oceanic Sacred World. The attack is intended to extract a coveted passage technique, but it instead deepens the surviving cultivators' alliance and gives the reincarnated Xue Ying an urgent reason to return from the Realm Heart Great Land. Xue Ying enters the Ancient Sacred World in secret, removes Jing Qiu and the other captives from the Sea of Agony, and withstands the Sacred Master's domain and weapon attacks long enough to escape. Sacred Master reveals his scaled Destruction Devil body during the pursuit; his greater speed and Ancient Sacred World's support let his pike injure Xue Ying, but Xue Ying's void techniques, multiple indistinguishable avatars, and allied intervention prevent a recapture. The encounter reveals both Sacred Master's ancient origin and a decisive limitation: he is formidable within his refined world, yet his lack of comparable Dao of Void attainments leaves him unable to identify or contain the correct avatar. The reason Sacred Master's strongest incarnation does not join that pursuit is an earlier retaliation by Old Monster Stone. After Xue Ying's apparent death, Old Monster Stone fights Sacred Master on the Ancient Sacred World and forces him to consume the Ancient Sacred Incarnation's accumulated energy, leaving both combatants injured. Old Monster Stone identifies Sacred Master as an earlier-era Destruction Devil who reached the final realm and seeks the Supreme Law; with his greatest reserve depleted and more experts emerging, Sacred Master judges his prospects in the current era poor and begins planning for the next one. Loss of the Ancient Sacred World

Sacred Master nevertheless continues gathering belief energy and rebuilding the Ancient Sacred Incarnation while waiting for the Great Apocalypse. When Emperor Jun advances to the final realm and begins destroying the Myriad Ancient Sacred World to win favor from the Supreme Law, Sacred Master immediately opposes him. Their shared race does not make them allies: Emperor Jun is a rival for the single Origin World, so Sacred Master joins Old Monster Stone in trying to prevent him from accelerating the apocalypse and taking the advantage for himself. (Chapter 1181)

Swordmaster's arrival overturns the old balance. His newly completed final-realm sword techniques injure Emperor Jun with attacks neither Sacred Master nor Old Monster Stone can properly perceive, and Sacred Master realizes the same strikes could gradually kill him. Xue Ying then supplies the large-scale domain and teleportation support needed to force Emperor Jun into the Lost World Corridor. Sacred Master benefits from that rescue of the era, but the display also tells Xue Ying and Swordmaster that they can now pursue him by the same method. (Chapters 1182–1185)

When they attack the Ancient Sacred World, Sacred Master's incompletely restored incarnation cannot offset Swordmaster's offense. He fuses with it and flees, but Xue Ying repeatedly locates him while two Swordmaster bodies cut his life force down to roughly thirty percent. Sacred Master finally escapes into the spatial turbulence of the Lost World Corridor, where the Origin World's protection of Destruction Devils defeats Xue Ying's wider domain and makes continued pursuit impractical. That retreat costs Sacred Master the basis of his rule. Xue Ying isolates and removes the soul brands from at least ninety-nine percent of his believers, depriving Sacred Master of both their obedience and most of their belief energy. Sacred Master considers killing the few believers still linked to him, but preserves them as an energy source and a means of observing the outside world. He recognizes that Xue Ying and Swordmaster both used Realm Heart Orders and that he can no longer compete openly, leaving him to reconsider belief-based control in favor of comprehending more Daos and Origin Sources. Concealment and erasure

Sacred Master's final-realm concealment initially protects him. Inside the Lost World Corridor he can suppress his aura, isolate karmic tracing, and disguise himself as an ordinary Destruction Devil; even Xue Ying cannot identify him at close range without a way to search every life directly. Xue Ying resolves to kill him before the next era but cannot cover the corridor or ensure that an unparalleled-level attack will exhaust Sacred Master's remaining life force. After attaining a Half-Chaotic Origin Lifeform Body, Xue Ying can push his domain farther into the corridor but still cannot overcome its exponentially increasing suppression. He leaves Sacred Master confined rather than spend an immense period searching region by region. Sacred Master remains unaware of Xue Ying's progress, and the source shows no new scheme during this interval beyond continued seclusion and the intention to exploit the next era. (Chapter 1367)

The protection fails when Xue Ying becomes a World Realm Chaotic Origin Lifeform and master of their Origin World. With a thought, Xue Ying restores the world, shatters the Lost World Corridor, and destroys its other Destruction Devils, leaving Sacred Master exposed. Sacred Master understands that Xue Ying has reached the goal he sought, resists the new master's pressure long enough to stand and demand whether he will be killed or tortured, and receives no prolonged punishment: Xue Ying erases him completely. Appearance and personality

In his cultivated presentation, Sacred Master is a barefooted figure in a black robe or black muslin cloth, with a neutral, holy-looking face. He habitually sits cross-legged on a black stone bed, and within his palace his presence appears so close to the Supreme Law that Xue Ying instinctively fears him. When he exposes his Destruction Devil body, scales cover his skin and face, gray lightning turns across them, black waves or fog roll from him, and the warmth of his aura gives way to something vile and destructive. Sacred Master can be controlled, patient, and superficially hospitable when coercion seems more useful than immediate violence. He shares an irreplaceable ancient wine with his captive before demanding information and abandons pursuits when the expected cost becomes too high. That patience serves an extreme possessiveness: he covets protected inheritances, regards an Origin World's lives as belief-producing instruments, and answers resistance with imprisonment, torture, and mass death. His self-conception depends on supremacy accumulated across many eras. He is accustomed to reverence, reacts with indignation when Swordmaster surpasses him, and experiences his flight into the Lost World Corridor as humiliation rather than merely a tactical setback. Even there, however, he can suppress the urge to kill his remaining followers because they still provide energy and intelligence. At his final confrontation he expects retribution and refuses to remain kneeling despite overwhelming pressure, showing defiance after his power and plans have ceased to matter. Abilities and cultivation

Sacred Master is a Destruction Devil from an earlier era who escaped his race's original compulsion to destroy by reaching the Cosmos God realm, survived at least one Great Apocalypse, and advanced to the final realm in the Dao of Lightning. Later evidence also gives him level-two Cosmos God attainments in the Daos of Destruction, Dark, and Light. This long progression explains both his breadth and his ability to remain active across eras, but the corpus does not preserve his initial cultivation, the method by which he survived his first apocalypse, or a complete sequence of breakthroughs. Grayish thunder and direct combat

The common source of Sacred Master's attacks is grayish thunder. It expresses slaughter, destruction, light, thunder, and apocalyptic force through different moves without making those manifestations independent cultivation systems. He channels it through a lance or pike, can throw the weapon across space at extreme speed, form thunder weapons in an incarnation's hand, congeal or suppress the surrounding void, and tear open travel passages with lightning. His true Destruction Devil form strengthens his combat power by roughly thirty to forty percent and emphasizes offense, while his ancient experience gives him close-combat skill beyond what Xue Ying initially expects. His representative attacks can crack the cage of the Origin World and pierce Xue Ying despite the latter's pinnacle void-ification and reinforced body. Ancient Sacred World and incarnation

Sacred Master has refined the Ancient Sacred World and can draw on its energy to project an incarnation, reinforce his domain, empower his weapon, and suppress space throughout his territory. At the center, the Ancient Sacred Pagoda accumulates the belief of its population and converts it into Origin Source Energy for the Ancient Sacred Incarnation. When that incarnation fuses with his true body, it multiplies his combat strength enough that an ignited full-power move can heavily injure Old Monster Stone; Sacred Master's normal final-realm body cannot reproduce that multiplication. The incarnation is a stored reserve, not an unlimited transformation. Its strongest expenditure can empty the accumulated energy, after which rebuilding takes prolonged belief gathering; the partial reserve available in Chapter 1186 is useless against Swordmaster. Sacred Master also avoids spending it casually because exhausting his trump card removes the threat that protects him from coalitions. Sacred Master implants soul brands that produce absolute loyalty while leaving victims conscious of their actions. Black light from the Ancient Sacred Pagoda spreads the influence across the Ancient Sacred World, and resistant cultivators may instead be imprisoned and tortured until they submit. Pure belief feeds his incarnation and is meant to align the will of the populace with Sacred Master, making it easier for him to grasp the Supreme Law and become the owner of the Origin World. He can potentially kill branded followers through their connection, although he does not exercise that option after retreating because the remnants remain useful. This system is powerful but contestable by a superior soul specialist. Xue Ying can place the believers in an illusory realm, isolate Sacred Master's connection before it is used to kill them, and then erase the brands. The result removes Sacred Master's control over at least ninety-nine percent of his followers and convinces him that belief-based expansion is no longer viable while Xue Ying remains present. Xue Ying's later conclusion that enslaving the populace is incompatible with truly controlling the Supreme Law is presented as Xue Ying's cultivation insight, not as an independently demonstrated law known to Sacred Master. Survival, perception, and limits

As a final-realm Destruction Devil, Sacred Master can dissipate into black light after being struck, reform his body, conceal his soul aura from wide-area perception, isolate karmic tracing, and disguise himself as another Destruction Devil. These properties make him exceptionally difficult to finish: Swordmaster's attacks reduce his life force but do not prevent escape, and the spatial turbulence and ruptures of the Lost World Corridor protect his concealment from Xue Ying's domain.
