Liang Yong
Liang Yong is an older Silver Moon Knight assigned to protect Si Bai Rong during the mission against Lu Huai Ru's castle. He dies while dividing his attention between his own survival and his duty to the Si Clan heir.
Biography
Castle assault and death
Liang Yong boards the expedition's flying ship as Si Bai Rong's bodyguard and remains alert because protecting the young master is his foremost task. During the castle's arrow assault, he tries to watch over Bai Rong even though the speed and force of the projectiles leave him barely able to defend himself. That divided effort contributes to his injuries and loss of position; a sabre strikes from behind and cuts through his throat. (Chapters 40–43)
His final thought is the hope that the Si Clan will still provide for his grandchildren. After the mission, Dong Bo Xue Ying finds Liang Yong's body and returns his storage armband rather than taking the dead knight's property; it had been placed inside Bai Rong's storage treasure. (Chapters 43 and 49)
Appearance and personality
Liang Yong is black-haired and considerably older than the mission's younger members. He is vigilant and dutiful, continuing to look out for Bai Rong even when doing so worsens his own chances. His dying concern for his grandchildren reveals that clan service is also tied to his family's security. (Chapters 41 and 43)
Abilities and cultivation
As a long-established Silver Moon Knight, Liang Yong has been stuck below Legend rank because he cannot comprehend being One with the World. He fights with sword and shield. By angling the shield, he redirects eight or nine arrows in one exchange and reduces their impact, but the barrage remains too fast and powerful for him to protect both himself and Bai Rong. (Chapters 41 and 43)
The ambush demonstrates his practical limit: after avoiding and blocking successive arrows, lending part of his attention to his ward leaves him vulnerable to the fatal rear attack. No higher technique or cultivation breakthrough occurs before his death. (Chapter 43)
Relationships
- Si Bai Rong: Liang Yong joins the mission specifically as his bodyguard and dies while trying to monitor his safety. (Chapters 40–43)
