Forefather Scarlet Flame was a powerful cultivator whose need to purify a Sun Star Nucleus Stone drew Dong Bo Xue Ying into helping him. His inability to protect the stone from Bamboo Saint turned that help into guilt, and Bamboo Saint's repeated attacks ultimately killed him. (Chapters 606–626)

Biography

The Sun Star Nucleus Stone

Scarlet Flame's standing was high enough that Xue Ying once considered becoming his disciple to seek protection from Venomous Ying. Later, he asked Xue Ying for help purifying a Sun Star Nucleus Stone because the process was crucial to his cultivation and prohibitively costly. Although forced by need to seek aid, he insisted on paying what he could and preferred abandoning the opportunity to letting Xue Ying shoulder every debt, preserving his dignity as a powerful existence. Bamboo Saint targeted the stone for a reward, killed Scarlet Flame, and stole it; after Scarlet Flame returned, Bamboo killed him a second time. Scarlet Flame's anger became anguish because the loss could leave Xue Ying liable to the stone's original owner, and he accepted responsibility despite lacking the means to replace it. Bamboo's later report confirms the killing, while the supplied evidence records no further survival. (Chapters 492 and 606–626)

Appearance and personality

The corpus does not provide a stable physical description. Scarlet Flame is defined instead by pride joined to responsibility: he could humble himself to request help for cultivation, but refused to treat Xue Ying's wealth and favors as his own resources and became overwhelmed by guilt when he failed to safeguard the borrowed stone. Scarlet Flame is called a powerful existence, but the surviving excerpts do not state his precise realm or demonstrate a named technique. His pursuit of purification for the Sun Star Nucleus Stone shows that further cultivation depended on an expensive external resource. The text reports that Bamboo Saint killed him twice, implying that the first death did not exhaust every means by which he could return, but it does not explain whether this involved multiple bodies, avatars, or another mechanism.
