Jebus

Jebus Lata is a School of Truth operative who ambushes Lumian Lee's group and becomes their captive source on the organization, its transactions, and its pursuit of 0-05. (Chapters 2145–2147)

Biography

Cordu, Trier, and the Approaching Apocalypse

After the failed ambush, Jebus gave his name casually and tried to unsettle Franca Roland and Jenna by invoking 0-05. Under questioning, he explained how his pathway sensed needs, matched candidates, and facilitated transactions, and he described the School of Truth's goals and Under-the-Table dealings. (Chapters 2145–2148)

Lumian probed the restrictions surrounding Jebus's disclosures, but a deadly enforcement mechanism activated and killed the captive before the questioning was meant to end. The group retained his intelligence and equipment, later using his bullets, healing agent, and Lie while confronting Overseer Perle and related enemies. (Chapters 2148–2154 and 2161–2172)

Appearance and personality

The corpus emphasizes Jebus's nonchalant, almost companionable tone rather than a detailed physical portrait. He is smug, eager to witness fear, and accustomed to transactions, yet his confidence fails when the hidden punishment for disclosure overtakes him. (Chapters 2145–2150)

Pathways and abilities

Jebus belongs to the Broker pathway. He can become attuned to needs, locate suitable people to fulfill them, and facilitate exchanges through speech and connections; the corpus also associates his equipment with Deprivation, but does not state his exact sequence or show that every bullet effect is personally innate. (Chapters 2147–2148 and 2172)

Relationships

Lumian Lee interrogates Jebus and inherits his intelligence, while Franca Roland and Jenna help contain and question him. Overseer Perle and the School of Truth stand behind the restrictions that make his knowledge lethal to reveal. (Chapters 2145–2154 and 2165–2166)

Items

Jebus carried six special bullets, including Deprivation Bullets, a healing agent, and the Lie earring. These passed to Lumian's group after Jebus died and were used in later confrontations. (Chapters 2161–2172)
