Heath Doyle

“Bloodless” Heath Doyle is the second mate of the Future and a Rose Bishop under Cattleya. His flesh magic makes him a capable defender of the crew but also leaves him vulnerable to corruption from related powers.

Biography

Encounters Across Both Eras

Heath serves Cattleya as the Future's second mate and joins the voyage involving Groselle's Travels. When a flesh creature threatens the ship, he emerges from concealment to protect Cattleya, Frank, Nina, and the sailors, devouring and digesting hostile flesh to contain its spread. The same contact contaminates him and makes him vomit, forcing the crew to rely on a protective Sealed Artifact and Queen Mystic's intervention to prevent his mutation from destroying everyone aboard. (Chapters 645, 657–661, 668–669)

After recovering, Heath continues handling dangerous remains, moving mystical materials, and helping supervise Cielf aboard the Future. His later presence among the crew confirms that he survives the voyage and remains defined by loyal service rather than by the corruption episode; references in the later era preserve that active association with Cattleya's ship. (Chapters 672–711, 2595)

Appearance and personality

Heath is thin and frail-looking, with skin so pale that it seems nearly transparent and a disproportionately high nose bridge. He is quiet, disciplined, and loyal, acting quickly to shield his captain and crewmates despite knowing that his own pathway makes close contact with corrupted flesh dangerous. (Chapters 645, 657–661)

Pathways and abilities

Heath is a Sequence 6 Rose Bishop of the Hanged Man pathway. He can manipulate, consume, and digest flesh, use blood-and-flesh transformations, and emerge from concealment to attack or protect. Powers of the same domain can corrupt him through contact; without sensory protection and higher-level aid, that contamination can drive him into mutation. (Chapters 657–661, 668–669)

Relationships

Cattleya is Heath's captain and the person he instinctively protects. Frank Lee and Nina are fellow officers whose safety he helps secure, while Bernadette's arrival prevents his corruption from becoming a fatal threat to the entire crew. (Chapters 645, 657–661, 668–669)

Items

During the flesh-creature crisis, Heath uses a Sealed Artifact that temporarily reduces his hearing and limits corruptive auditory influence. It is entrusted ship equipment rather than a named possession uniquely belonging to him. (Chapters 661, 668–669)
